The Question at 16:10, why does Trump not support Ukraine? America first doesn't explain it. Why does he support Israel then? Big miss here is Ukraine/Zelensky is the center of his first impeachment. His lack of support for Ukraine is his personal grievance from that. If he's reelected our national policy on Ukraine and in turn Russia will be based on Trump thinking only about himself. See his meeting with Zelensky last week and what did he focus on in that meeting?

With all do respect you could not be further from the Truth, Trump looks at Ukraine as a Biden admin failure (Trump has no policy for Ukraine accept a negotiated surrender) it has nothing to do with his personal feelings with Zelensky. Trump personally despises Netanyahu, but will support israel no matter what because of the Judens…

💯 #sanewashing NYT. How can you justify this bullshit answer. Trump has a serious grudge with Ukraine. He's vindictive, immature and small minded. Why not just say what you KNOW to be true?! There is MORE than enough evidence to show he ONLY cares about payback. Wtf? I'm gonna have to find another news source if NYT does stop pretending this KING BABY is anything like normal, sane, intelligent, capable of diplomacy...

Hasn't Russian banks loaned him money on a "no payments required" basis. I imagine those loans would show up on his tax returns. LoL, the tax returns that he will release as soon as that 13 year long audit is over.

If the USA stops supporting Ukraine, the conclusion for the world will be as follows: "do not believe in the agreements and do not give up your own nuclear weapons in exchange for any security guarantees. Nuclear weapons are a guarantor of sovereignty!" If you are not scared of such a world ... then you are scaring me.

Exactly. Canada and Mexico already have a covert nuclear-weapon program in place in case the USA re-elects Trump or another dictator.

Just to be clear, in our history, any time a politician is "isolationist" they were ACTUALLY acting on behalf of our adversaries who didn't want to become enemies...

Our political and media class, in the US, think we’re stupid and they talk to us like we’re stupid. This fact is most clear in terms media relating to foreign policy and in particular Israel-Palestine. There is no difference in policy between Biden/Harris and Trump. Trump moved the embassy to Jerusalem (the eastern half of which was illegal annexed after the 1967 war and is a Jim Crow city where the difference between Israeli Jews and Palestinians is de jure and de facto and clear to eye, a fact that is never mentioned). He also accepted Israel’s illegal annexation of the Golan heights ( also captured in 1967 and ethnically cleansed of its Muslim Syrian residents, a fact that is also never unmentioned). Biden never reversed this policy after 4 years. Biden continued to push the “Abraham Accords” (a Trump policy) which would allow the Israel’s to continue seizing Palestinian lands, deny them there basic rights, and ghettoize them in an ever shrinking Bantustans. Trump and Biden have the same policy visa a vis Israel. Is there a difference between Harris, the current guy and the last guy, Really? No, but Harris has a different tone. Biden and Trump are so extremely racist that they can’t even pretend to care about tens of thousands of children being murdered (literally ripped to pieces, beheaded, burned alive, crushed to death, starved to death, disemboweled, etc.). Harris will play the game and lament over the children and women but she will continue to send the bombs, the shells, the bullets, the spare parts, money, and (most importantly) the diplomatic cover for the massacre to continue. Harris was an AG and a lawyer but the term “International Law” or “ International Humanitarian law” is never mentioned by her (or this Podcast). Instead, we hear about “the International rules base order”. The International rules base order is not the same thing as International law. Harris, Biden, Trump and the whole of our political class don’t believe in International Law, the rules of war, or the Geneve conventions (at least not for ourselves and our friends). Israelis use the term “shoot and cry” for IDF soldiers that commit war crimes in the occupied territory than feel bad about the whole thing. This is what we can except from the Harris administration: Same policy, more tears. Weapons will flow, the embassy will stay in Jerusalem, and the IDF and settlers will continue to kill, destroy the homes, stealing the land and trample on the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people with the full support of our politicial and media overlords.

You're right, the Trump administration has a stellar foreign policy record when you hold it up to the Biden/Harris record. They aren't even on the same map. I'm glad someone noted this.

Exactly what I was thinking. They're portraying Trump as someone who actually has any plan about anything. He's a reactive egomaniac who does not deserve to be treated as a normal politician. Trump's only "policy" is what can I do to grift.

And so we are ramping up. Not at the speed I would like to, but we are. For as far as I know, the social, economic and military aid we've been providing Ukraine is around 1.5-2x bigger than what the USA has given up to now, in spite of a GDP that is wáy lower (18 vs 27 trillion). And yes, your military aid is way bigger than ours, simply because we dismantled our military industries partly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Which needs to be rebuilt right now.

Trump is transactional and in a two party negotiating each one desires value as a metric to success. Trump views negotiating w Ukraine as less utility to him than Russia.

That's a non-argument. Of course he is a war criminal. But listen to his reasons: He still believes in democracy. It's not up to Harris how he votes. But if he can sway votes to Harris, they're welcome. Doesn't mean they get a cabinet position! If 40 out of 44 Trump cabinet members warn that he is unfit for office, I would take that message wáy more serious than a Cheney endorsement.
