why don't you? NYC has surprises in every corner. why don't you pick a Sunday, choose a neighborhood, and go exploring, even by yourself? I've done that. I recommend Williamsburg, Ktown near Harold square, thrifting in east village, grabbing coffee in west village, soho, chinatown in flushing, Bryant Park (they have this cute Japanese bookstore there called books kinokuniya) and Union square in December when they put up the holiday market

honestly i feel with the anxiety - especially last year, and even now, a lot the times I end up just avoiding going out or pressuring myself to get out there~ I guess it's just a process and a balance, one that i'm definitely still figuring out too

I've been thinking of going to college at NYU, but I'm having a hard time understanding how life would be like in New York. Coming from a girl who lives in MN, the thought of NY scares me a bit, but I LOVE the city. Is it dangerous to walk alone at night? Where did you meet your first friends? Will I survive? I'm INTIMIDATED.

yes you will survive :) if you think about it that way it's intimidating but there are also thousands of people in your same position that will relate to how your feeling and plenty of nyu staff/students etc that will help you transition smoothly- just remember you're likely not going to feel as alone as you think you are!
