I honestly think these shades are very well chosen. A little bit too much brown or a little bit too much pink and it automatically doesn’t look like a nude for a particular skin tone. With this range, everyone can find a natural shade that complements their skin color. I don’t always choose a matte lip color, but this is one of the few formulations that isn’t over drying. It also layers beautifully with lip balm for those days when your lips are not in the best shape.

I just bought my first 1 of these today. CVS didn't have my first choice (peep show) so I got busted. It's gorgeous & I've had it on a few hours now, as far as liquid lipsticks go, def one of the better ones on my chronically dry lips. I'm about to eat lunch so I'll see how it stays then. Edit: stayed on ok from eating salad & dressing, not super oily, it did not wear off the inside of lips as most do. I think it does just come off a little in spots. This color though I love to death. It still looks OK, not perfect. I agree with Amanda also it does show all the texture of your lips so it makes them look a bit dry. It still is decent to me as far as liquid matte lips go. I also prefer super creamy bullet lipsticks & gloss but I can't stop trying to find some magic perfect liquid lip. It is not transferring when touched, I have been able to not add any lip balm (I can hardly go a half hour without lip balm), it still looks decent, a few spots may need a tiny touch up a few times if you wear this all day.

I've got both this and the Revlon gloss one that you mentioned and I have to say that I've had much better luck with the NYX than with the Revlon, which doesn't last long at all on me and tends to get a bit messy and all over things, whereas this NYX one is really transfer proof. I don't find it to be excessively drying.

Amanda regarding the colors being similar, are there subtle variations in undertones or are they just the tiniest bit darker or lighter than another color? I think the undertone aspect is kinda important for me because any slight hint of coolness tends to throw off the color on my lips. I think we know this particularly about reds. The Milani color fetish shine lipsticks, for example, don't come in enough variations imho.

Im very surprised you don’t like this formula, I actually love this product. I think Nyx lip products specifically are always great because eyeshadow wise they tend to be quite powdery and not very pigmented.

I do wish there was more variety in color... more orange, orangy red, purple, etc... I do like them though. I got a few colors and rocked the red (Stamina) for Memorial Day. Also, try the Garnier makeup remover (blue cap for waterproof)... breaks down ANY liquid lipstick and removes super easy so you don’t have to scrub your lips off! I swear by this!

Oh BTW pro tip if you really like the color that matched your sweater. Put some on your hand, then a dot of the clear Colourpop gloss and then you mix and apply 😊 This worked for my really drying oldish Makeup Revolution liquid lipstick and I've done it to other formulas too 😊 Ps I'm sorry I left a second comments but I was afraid you wouldn't see it down in my first comment 🙈

I actually LOVE these! Stay on? Oh yea! BUT, and here's the exciting part - I put Colourpop gloss over these, and the only thing that came off was the gloss, the lipstick stayed on my lips!!! So, I'm able to get a glossy lip (so as not to look too dry), the comfort of a gloss, but know that when the gloss wears or is wiped away, the lipstick is still there. This doesn't happen like this with my other liquid lipsticks, so this was a pleasant discovery. And, if I use a more sparkly shade of gloss and then blot the gloss off with a tissue, the sparkles stay behind, giving this lipstick a whole new look! (I did purchase a completely clear gloss by Elf to see if it, too, would work with these lipsticks. Yes and no - the lipstick did not get on the applicator, so the clear gloss is still clear gloss, but for some reason, the lipstick did come off with the gloss.) I am going to continue playing around with other glosses I have from Bare Minerals and Tarte and see how they work in tandem with these lipsticks, but so far, I am loving the ones I bought.

Thank You! Have had a nightmare 2 days trying to find swatches. For some reason, these look different in each format. I was thrilled with the NYX "try on" feature, only to find that the colors weren't accurate. I'm the type who doesn't like anything too bland nor too jarring. My favored hair color is dark, blood-red Auburn. But when I moved, I found a shoebox full of Garnier White Chocolate, a pale blonde -- so am using that up, haha! Right now, have decided on WARM UP and PEEK SHOW. (Also GETTIN' CALIENTE and CANDELA BABE - new shades, I guess.)

This formula lasts all day without over drying on me but, only when I apply it a certain way. I apply a line on each lip and blend with finger or brush...too much and it really doesn't look\last as well Fast forward 4 months. This product performs best when applied thinly (15+ hrs) wears fairly evenly, without visible 'bald' spots. Removes easiest\fastest with oil cleanser.

Does this work for an undefined, smoked, easy-going, effortless lip as japanese does? Or it is not that thin and light to get this effect right?

@@sofia899 it feels silicone heavy and thin depending on how you apply it. I've been able to achieve the faded(gradient) look. It does not set super fast so there is some play time to get the effect one wishes for. The product has good pigment concentration\payhoff.

I tried these before they rebranded it. I sent all of them back. Way too dry! I am a liquid matte lipstick fan but I could feel this formula ripping the moisture out of my lips like nothing Ive ever experienced. Im thankful you did this review. They are officially off my radar.

I find that these are transfer-proof to the touch but they rub off or fade easily with any friction. I personally find them less matte feeling than most matte liquid lipsticks but they don’t last nearly as long as they claim to. I don’t think they would last underneath a mask. I’ve heard that the dark colors are streakier. Was that your experience?

Honestly Amanda, I hate to be a "Debbie Downer," but I think NYX is becoming HELLA OVERPRICED. It's not even just the prices, it's the oz/gram etc. They are supposed to be a drugstore brand and they are more expensive than some of my high end products. So aside from a lippie here and there or their brow pen, I'm pretty much done with this brand. Which is too bad bc some of their products are ok/good/great, but I just can't get on with their pricetags anymore. But, I really appreciate these lip swatches and all your reviews oh and the bloopers make my day 🤣

The original Lip Lingerie didn't work for me and these won't either. But lately I've re-fallen in love with the Soft Matte Lip Cream that I can wear under my mask without smushing 😊 I'm sorry but I laughed a bit when you said your dog sneezed and hit the head 😁🙈🙊 My dog's a laughable goof too and I love her so much 😅💜

I LOVE this lipstick!!! I’ve been looking for a long lasting color to wear under my gloss (that I wear everyday). First I tried a lip tint, didn’t stay for that long. I’m so glad I tried this line of lipstick. It stayed ALL day long. I used a thin layer too. Of course my gloss came off but the color from this lipstick still stayed, even when I ate! I’ve been needing this in my life 😍 P.s. I should add that my lips usually aren’t dry. I could see how this formula would be too drying for some people

I disagree with you when it comes to colour range. I think the lingerie lipsticks never were supposed to be very colourful. A bit grungy? Yeah, if you chose a colour like that. But they're supposed to be nudes in the first place. Shades that fit your skin colour and are longlasting. They didn't have in mind that one person wants to buy all the shades in the range but one or a few that also matches their undertone and stuff. How often have you thought "I wish this lipstick would be a teeny tiny bit cooler... or warmer... or more neutral" or whatever :D And with this line I feel like they want to give us customers that kind of variety. That's just my opinion tho, I'm not here for a fight :D How strange that it wore so badly on you!! I could imagine that it may be because you removed them so often before? Because at least with the old formula I haven't had struggles like that. I will probably buy one colour to test them myself and if it's nice I maybe treat myself with a second one but I'm not sure yet :D Thank you for your video and I hope your lips recover fast 😄💕
