NZ: Another Autumn change this week as high pressure remains offshore

A low with sub-tropical connections will flirt with the eastern North Island over the next couple of days but the main feature coming into NZ this week is yet another Autumn cold front, bringing another reset in temperatures and another dusting of snow.
Wet weather will be mostly on the West Coast but some will spread into eastern areas of the South Island in particular - good news for Cantabrians needing more rain.

Philip. We need to talk… As of the 2022 census, NZ has a population of 5.124 million. According to figures posted by nz farming sources, the following is the situation. Quote “Farmers and their families make up only 2-3 percent of the total population. New Zealand is one of the most urbanised countries in the OECD.” So, can you please stop referring to rain as a good thing and serve the other 4.97028 million kiwis by referring to it as shitty weather? Ta.

Gardeners need rain - they are all across our cities and parks and domains. Our native bush needs rain. Many Aucklanders have rainwater tanks - a surprising amount actually. And every city council in NZ needs rain to bring water that flows out your taps. It's not only rural folk needing, wanting or liking rain.
