I have been watching Guilty of Treeson videos and stumbled across your awesome vids which has now seen me move on to watch you. I cut firewood only here in Central Otago as in my early seventies.

So glad to have you on. You kept your chin up, did the yards, and that's the main thing. Sorry you encountered so much crap. Regards to your Family.

More thoughts on 'chairs coming to me - a face cut that closes too early can cause a chair too - I have a vid of someone else doing it on my channel. A fast cutting saw like your i helps. ;-) Forward leaners are the ones that like to chair, but it also very related to species. Dougs are pretty hard to chair, but the one in the end of your vid really wanted to! Ashes and such.

Why do you guys do those cuts. I’ve only seen west coast USA logging and we do Humboldt style face cut and just a simple back cut. I’m curious to know your reason for your methods

Removing the center of the hinge reduces the chances of barber chair - see game of logging and afleetcommand here on YT. Good luck, be safe.

Plantation pine aint bush ou , you trippin on your laces . life of a plant cutter be more like your job description , sort of like asparagus coz pine goes bad if it aint fresh . Have a think about it forest is self sown regenerating insignis or other ... If the slaves planted it that makes it plantation , aint a forest no way. bush either . But here's the for real , you gotta be smarter than a vegetable , coz if you aint that vegie gonna do you bad . Copy that vegie boy! Get over it , and remember carrots are green on top too .
