NZASM Centenary 1990 Emil Kessler

To celebrate the Centenary of the Transvaal Republican Railway - NZASM, the veteran Emil Kessler-built 0-4-0 little tank engine was restored to working order and was brought out onto the main line between Johannesburg and Germiston to haul one coach on the 17th of March 1990. She was followed by 4-6-0 Kitson, a veteran of the Natal Government Railways dating back to 1882 and finally a special train hauled by class 25NC no.3407.

Had no idea these relics of the NZASM and Natal railways still existed - amazing!. Sure hope they are being kept safe - must be the last examples of these in existence.
