I like the chemistry between Maia and Nicole but Maia not only physically cheated, she also emotionally cheated. Maia dumped Nicole for a straight woman (she fell in love with) who was using her because she liked the attention. And then used Nicole as a back up plan when said straight woman broke things off and moved away.
