Your omelettes are truly works of art! I love that shiso leaf inside the omelette. This is a great bento! I’m not a big fan of bitter gourd but would love to try the salad. Thanks!

You could substitute the bitter gourd for spinach, that tastes amazing

About the Tamago-yaki (omelette roll), you can put other things (Nori-seaweed, Tarako/fish roe, soboro/cooked minced pork, etc.) inside. You also can mix in.

Japan have long School and work day, so they like to full the Bentos with all the food they going to need. I don't know where are you from, but here in my country, Barranquilla, Colombia, Southamerica you going to the School 7 am to 12:30 pm , your half morning food allways it's going to be something simple. You're going to have lunch in home.

excuse me, this wood bento box can keep your food warm in a long time, right ? and its price is expensive ?

excuse me, this wood bento box can keep your food warm in a long time, right? and its price is expensive? A wooden (bamboo) lunch box can not keep food warm. So I need to cool down the rice and side dishes, and then lid it. This bamboo lunch box was 4500 yen.

I would love to try cooking this some day! Although, I currently live in America and I'm not sure if the ingredients are at our stores. Does anyone know where else I can find good ingredients?

B o r p Most small to large cities have markets which sell many Japanese ingredients. If you can't find a Japanese market, look for a Korean market. Google essential Japanese ingredients and buy those. If you can't find them in your city, look on Amazon. As for vegetables, many common Japanese vegetables are available here too. Some essential Japanese ingredients which will create the distinctive Japanese flavor: Kikkoman soy sauce Mirin Sake for cooking Dashi (you can buy powdered dashi until you learn to make fresh) White miso paste ( you can find other ones, but start wi this one) Ponzu sauce Shiitake mushrooms Togarashi Sesame oil Short grain white rice (Japanese rice is sticky) Kombu
