Though I am Japanese, I have never thought about the difference between Japanese style of “bow” and that of American. Like you mentioned in this video, Japanese style of bow is vary in some situations. I think foreign peoples will surprise when they see Japanese do a very very deep bow.

Bowing is Japanese body language😂 In my personal opinion, it is just one way to convey your feelings to the other person. So if there are other ways to show your feelings, I think that's fine too.
