This song is classic in itself, as being sung as a duet by Lata & Asha in this own specific style. Where as Lata sings in an anxious tone Asha sings in a romantic tone. Meena kumari acted the same way quite anxious as Lata sings for her and so Shyama acted in the romantic tone displayed by Asha.I love this song. The music is superb as so the lyrics.

I always get the feeling that Latadidi sang in the most smooth, classical ways yet enchanting for C. Ramchandra and Madan Mohanji. Same for Ashatai for O. P. Nayyar and Burmanda and R.D.as well. But the artistry of both was most illuminating and special when the sisters sang for the brother, ridyanathji. 🙏🙏🙏

Such a melodious gem,dates to atime when I wasn't even born.I had heard it in the BHULE BISRE GEET programme on AAKASH VANI in the sixties and seventies,as s child and a teenager.It is so underrated and was rarely played on chitrahaar on fdoordarshan.I heard it later on audio and saw it in video casettes..Now thankfully can hear it to my satisfaction on u tube.The beauty and grace of the actresses is also so remarkable.Meenaji is so beautiful and ladylike as always and Shyamaji is so apt for the other woman's character , as always she is so vivacious,beautiful ,graceful and of course not to miss her trademark sparkling ,talking eyes.Wish we had such graceful actresses today.
