O for a thousand tongues to sing

De Champ has once again stimulated our senses at this Easter time with a new video to sing praises to God. In his unique style, he uses a blend of singers, stirring chord progressions from an array of instruments and captivating rhythms to praise God and spread his word.
The video’s opening fanfare announces several performers in a mix of serene and sacred settings expressing praise through music, song and dance. One cannot help but notice the vibrant colours of the beautiful mix of African and other attires which contrast well with the greenery of the surroundings. Similarly, there is a lovely mix of athleticism of the young dancers with the gentle graceful swaying of the singers.
The quality of the singing really stands out in this video as it transitions from the dulcet tones of a beautiful soprano voice through to accomplished tenor and baritone singing. Though praise is the essence, there are playful elements in the video where performers call and answer with synchronised clapping and cheerful spins. With effortless musicality, De Champ, once again excels in this genre and uplifts.
