I followed this recipe today and the cake was delicious! Only downside was that it was slightly dry, since no oil/butter was used. This caused my cake to crack when I rolled it up. Sad it wasn't pretty enough for photos, but it was soo yummy!

When I was a child, my mom made ice earl grey in the summer because it was so refreshing. I agreed. Nothing was quite as thirst quenching after a hot time in the sun as a glass of icy cold earl grey. I will try this recipe and although I may not make it this well I can already tell I'm going to feel that childhood comfort biting into a silky sponge cake. Thank you for your video!

Thank you SOOOO much! Plain flour is okay! I think you should add baking powder (2g, 1/2 tsp) to plain flour to soften the cake.

Yes, you can. You should use an 18cm (7 inches) round pan. Preheat your oven to 200℃ / 392 F, and bake it at 170℃ / 338 F for around 45-50 mins. After baking, immediately drop the pan to your work surface to prevent the cake from shrinking.

Thank you very much!! I'm happy ♡ If a 6 inces pan, you should use 3/4 ingrediens of the sponge cake, and bake for 35-40 mins. ■ingrediens for sponge cake (6 inch) 3 eggs, (180g, without shell) 53g granulated sugar 37g milk 7g honey 6g (3 tsp) earl grey 60g cake flour, or all-purpose flour

I followed this recipe twice and still failed...the first time the cake was too dry, the second time the cake was still dry and there are lumps of flours in the cake after baking, can anyone help?

If you make it next time, please seal with a plastic wrap, (If possible, twice), and then put it in a fridge to prevent the cake from drying. Before adding flour to the cake batter, Put around 1/3 of the batter in a small bowl, and add the flour, and stir it with a whisk until smooth. Put it back to the original cake batter, and fold it. Thank you!
