Amazing! I’ve attempted this before following a different tutorial and the flower head got pretty heavy and slid down the wire a bit and was dragging on the fondant where it was placed on the cake due to the weight. Now the styrofoam trick, genius! Takes the bulk of the weight off, will definitely try this. Thank you x
@GourmetGateaux Жыл бұрын
Thank you Wani! That is correct, because these flowers are really heavy, having the styrofoam bud works wonders and the flower doesn't get too bulky or heavy. How did you get on?😊

@GourmetGateaux4 жыл бұрын
Hi there Lynette, Thank you! Glad to hear you are enjoying them. :-) There is a purchase link in the description box for the petal cutters and I've used the smallest 2 for the centre and used the 3rd size up along with the other 2 for the outer petals. :-)

Hi, thank you so much for this informative and simple video. "I really like the dresden technique you used to curl the petals...i would say this is more a O'Hara Rose which is very much in fashion atm. beautiful end result and very realistic, thanks :)
@GourmetGateaux4 жыл бұрын
Hi Asma! Thank you so much! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the tutorial.😊. Yes the O'Hara rose is very much similar to the Heritage rose. There are countless varieties of sugar flowers, and some do resemble each other a lot with the way they look but still have different names and you would easily be able to turn this into an O'Hara rose and vice versa if you wanted as well as a David Austin rose as they all look very alike. I will share my version of that particular rose very soon.💞.
