It was a turning point in the 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trial when it stopped being about the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman and focused on Detective Mark Fuhrman. Audio tapes existed of Fuhrman with screenwriter Laura Hart McKinney, who was researching a movie about cops. She had 13 hours of taped research of interviews. In an interview in 1997, Fuhrman told INSIDE EDITION he actually tried to have the tapes destroyed. "It was one of those doomed feelings," he said. #InsideEdition

He had to plea the 5th. You obviously hate whites. It doesn’t mean you would plant evidence against them. There is one thing to not like another culture vs putting your occupation on the line. Why would someone plant anything if they don’t know where the suspect was at the time? He could have an air tight alibi. News flash.. white people dont hate black people to the point they would lose their pension and career. I’m sorry if that offends you. The modo is “get them next time” not put your career on the line. Simply not worth it.

when someone is asked if they've ever planted any evidence, and they say pretty much, I don't want to answer that (pleading the 5th) there's no way the case can go on. go home right now and ask your husband ,wife, boyfriend or girlfriend, and ask them if they've ever cheated on you, and have them answer with I plead the 5th or "I rather not answer that" would you be okay with that or think something's up

It's a shame Nicole and Ron never got justice. A major issue in what Marsha felt would have been a slam dunk case was the prosecution couldn't, or didn't prove OJ did it... beyond reasonable doubt. That is, Furhman's credibility as their star witness, asking OJ to try the gloves, and the fact the evidence was allowed to be potentially contaminated. For example: *taking evidence home, *risking the transfer of blood when handling the body *lead detective (first on the scene to find evidence) being one notorious for racism, planting evidence and poor policing. I think they'd have had it in the bag had the defence not been able to poke holes at that. Were they too confident, did they get sloppy in their research, or were they aware and just hoped for the best? Such a high profile case probably couldn't afford those types of mistakes.

I always - even at the time - felt that OJ either did it (or had a part in the crime). That being said, part of instructions to all juries is IF see a party on either side caught in a provable lie - you MUST discard all their testimony. This is one of the building blocks the defense used to get the not-guilty verdict. It wasn't the only part of the case that worked in the favor of the defense, but it opened up sooo many problems with the prosecution's case. The defense won him the not-guilty verdict with great legal skills - and by their defense, he was "not (legally) guilty," but I still am convinced he committed the crime.

Those tapes should have never been admitted as evidence; they had nothing to do with the case. Judge Ito permitted the tapes in court for personal reasons. His wife took a promotion in the LAPD primarily because they needed a woman in such a high position, and not for her experience or ability. Fuhrman was upset the system had bypassed so many good cops who deserved the job. He opposed her promotion from within, along with a petition from other officers. It was payback time for Ito, who didn't care about justice for those victims.

Mr. Fuhrman, you and I met at the Red Onion in the valley, I believe, sometime in 1984. I was with my friend Kelly a blonde with short hair, at the time. I look a bit like Jane Kennedy. You asked if I was a latina, I said "no," and explained my heritage. You were nice and polite--very much a gentleman --and had your fancy detective expensive sports car at the time. You gave me your card at the end of the evening and invited me to "spaghetti dinner." I called you and left a message the next day. You called me back but, some things came up, and I couldn't get back to you. I remember you and think what was done to you and your private medical records in the OJ trial was an abomination of historic proportions and our democratic constitutional way of life. Wishing you well.

Mark fuhrman already answered to this a dozen times since the trial on Oprah multiple times and other places. It was a screen writer who needed help writing a screenplay and she wanted him to help her come up with how bad cop characters would act. He was playing a part.

Also they dug that up from 10 years prior. He lived in LA. He did private security for celebrities on the side and this was one of those side jobs. He never thought a million years that woman would come forward and say oh he's lying he said the n word before. Well he said a bunch of horrible s*** because he was helping her come up with bad cop characters for her screenplay. I'm pretty sure he said he worked with her for months. It wasn't just an overnight thing where he flew there and flew back once. He flew to South Carolina many times over a period of months helping her with the screenplay. He used slurs for all kinds of races and talked about planting evidence and all kinds of craziness. Funny how no one mentions that.
