Absolutely a beautiful performance. The best I ever heard with this song! Thanks to the magnificent conductor and his skilled singers in this choir for a wonderful musical experience!

Very commendable performance. I suspect that I'd enjoy this even more had I been present in the room. Recordings of live performances are so rarely completely true to all the finessed nuances that are discerned in the room. So, well done!

What beautiful moving music. It was new to me when I sang it at a wedding yesterday. I just had to find a recording so I could listen to it. Isn't this choir superb?! Such a perfect blend and balance between the voices, and every word was clear. Well controlled dynamics and phrasing too, all supported by a sensitive accompanist. Sorry to be so technical, but these things are so important, and cannot be taken for granted.

Well if these are all midwestern singers that's why the vowel sounds are so clear.

O LOVE THAT WILT NOT LET ME GO (George Matheson) O Love that wilt not let me go, I rest my weary soul in Thee; I give Thee back the life I owe, That in Thine ocean depths its flow May richer, fuller be. O light that followest all my way, I yield my flickering torch to Thee; My heart restores its borrowed ray, That in Thy sunshine’s blaze its day May brighter, fairer be. O Joy that seekest me through pain, I cannot close my heart to Thee; I trace the rainbow through the rain, And feel the promise is not vain, That morn shall tearless be. O Cross that liftest up my head, I dare not ask to fly from Thee; I lay in dust life’s glory dead, And from the ground there blossoms red Life that shall endless be.

The George Matheson lyrics re-issued, this time with the melody by Elaine Hagenberg, This new melody is lovely (as was the original) of the traditional hymn “Oh Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go).

Elaine Hegenberg's composition is truly beautiful. But why is it that only two from four stanzas of the lyrics are sung ? I have never seen any choir group sang the whole stanzas with this more recent composition. George Mattheson wrote a lyric that is deeply meaningful and very Christ-centered when read as a whole.
