As a big fan of classical music as much as of this marvelous beautiful lady, I was so disheartened when she changed her on stage name to Sangeeta Kaur. Being strongly nationalistic, I sadly miss her Vietnamese ( kind of ) lovely name TERESA MAI !

Teresa is not a Vietnamese name. I simply respect her choice.

@@VinhNguyen-ek5lr Dude, It appears that you did not read my comment thoroughly. Did I include the qualifier "kind of" in parenthesis in my statement ?. Obviously, you either missed that or did not fully comprehend English. Of course, you don't have to be an Einstein to know that "Teresa" is not a Vietnamese name. Nor is it a Chinese name right ?. yet everybody knows the famous singer Teresa Teng is Chinese. So is Jackie Chan. ( and certainly every Vietnamese knows and recognizes Elvis Phuong is a Vietnamese ) . So the point is that in spite of their 'westernized" first name, their names are still "recognizable" for their nationality. That is the difference with respect to Ms. Teresa Mai's new name. Having said that, I simply expressed my preference as a fan. By no means, did I criticize her decision to change name. Before her, many celebrities including Marilyn Monroe. ,Tom cruise, Demi Moore did change names. Thus nothing can be said negatively about that. Dude, by hastily raising an non existent ( or trivial to say the least) issue here, you seem to be ignorant to the fact that, in addition to many Asian celebrities, millions of Asians living in western countries have already adapted English and other European first names.
