Its wonderful to observe a conductor who is willing to follow the singers tempo and lead the orchestra to "jump" to the right place when the tempo is too slow like Freni purposfully marked here. I am not experienced enough to comment on that performance . I mean by that the technical excellence. I can say however, as a novice, that, late in life, I have found music and and a performances that defies description. If there exists a superlative greater than "Brilliant" then it would be applied to what I have just watched. I understand now how one can be moved by excellence . Astounding.
