I have wanted to see this movie for years . I saw it once.....the original airing in 1984. It was when I was pregnant with ,my daughter and appreciated the great story to take my mind off things . This is such an epic miniseries and somewhat historically correct.

I can understand why Jamie took his revenge on the Dutchman, but using his innocent daughter was harsh.

He believed she was a part of what happened to him, & wanted revenge on her too. I also believe he did that because of what happened to Banda's 11 year old sister. Van Der Merve raped Banda's sister & got her pregnant. So he got Van Der Merve daughter pregnant as Banda's revenge

Oh she was born. It happened to Jamie only 1 1/2- 2 years ago. She had told Jamie at that time that her father was the man in town to help him.
