Vaishnavi is originally from Kerala. All 4 Malayalees (Vaishnavi, Devanashriya, Miah & Avirbhav) are past contestants of the Flowers Top Singer show. The biggest difference between South Indian singing contests and SSS3 is that in South India, the judges note down the errors in the contestants singing and while encouraging them, also request them to sing those parts where they weren't 100% ok. Sometimes, contestants are advised to improve their breath control by practising Pranayama. This practice results in improvements in every contestants performance throughout the series.

@@pjroy5052 I'm not making a North South divide. I'm explaining why a small state like Kerala has 4/15 contestants, most of whom don't even understand Hindi. I just said that the judges in Kerala and Tamil Nadu really do their best to not only encourage the singers, they point out their mistakes and give them opportunities to sing those portions again. Contestants really improve because most including the late great SP Balasubramaniam will even sing portions of the song and train them on the set.
