@Mayank superhero actually, we understood everything you just typed out. We can understand Hindi perfectly, we just need practice speaking it. Much like if you came to America, you would speak English with an accent and it would take some practice to become expertly fluent. We sincerely apologize about the misinformation about the word "Namaste" and it's use in everyday Indian culture- really didn't mean to offend anyone, and we're glad to be enlightened about this subject. Hopefully we can enlighten and learn from each other without the need to put each other down! It's easy to spread hate anonymously, behind the protection of a computer screen but it's much harder to accept a sincere apology and speak from love rather than unjustified hate. Thats my way of thinking, example im a south indian and we always have our food on the floor folding our legs like padmasan. Benifits are when u sit and eat like this u are never over eating coz ur stomach is half pressed inside which means u are eating as much as required which means u are keeping ur health as well as keep your joints flexible compared to consuming food over dining table. Having water in copper vessel is proved by science as benificial which was practiced in every homes in india earlier we have given up our own ancient knowledge and practice to be known as modern. U can be modern in thinking yet keep ur old practices. Thats my take. Omit things which were bad but keep things which makes sense to this modern day thats all. We all are indians let be proud of our indianness, shouldnt that be the way to move forward learning whats good from other cultures yet keeping our cultural values.

But there was a time when item numbers were tastefully done with classically trained dancers like Madhuri who could bring grace to every movement. Namaste means greating and praise to you. Every one can say it. Be it younger to elder, between colleagues, man to woman and vice versa. Basically we greet the other person through three ways (1) Pranam towards great persons or Nature (man and woman including) (2) Namaskar towards elder persons and seniors (3) Namaste is elaborated above. I hope that it gave you a small glimpse of Indian culture. I also like to mention that Namaste is for all kinds of persons. The use of other two is somehow for very specific persons. If you say Pranam or Namaskar to a normal hindi knowing person who is not ment (I wouldn't say eligible) for these greatings, he will feel weird.
