If by some miracle anyone sees this in 2023 I hope to connect with similar souls..o town music is a significant part of my growth. As a man in his 30s now who had his own music success that I couldn't wuote capitalise on. Hoping to connect with like minded souls who still love o town

So nostalgic. I remember watching this from the very beginning and loved watching them develop. I loved O-Town so much. This brings back so many memories.

I remember watching this show religiously when it was on, I even remember being part of a group where you watched an episode and then went onto a forum and "critiqued" the epidsode. Ahh, the days of Angelfire and having to record the show on VHS to watch over and over again. Those were the days.

so many memories!!! i can officially say i've been a making the band fan from day 1 and i'm fairly certain that i've seen every episode. as great as the formation of o-town is, i gotta say the catchphrases coined by diddy were something else haha

Here's the thing I never understood. By this point, Lou Pearlman should've been in jail. Why were people still trusting him to create boy bands despite what he's done to NSYNC and Backstreets at this point.
@2sexclusive7 жыл бұрын
Because regardless of what Lou did as a shitty conniving greedy manager he had an ear to scout talent anyone with money could have done the same thing but it’s less than likely they would have succeeded like Lou there was many other boy bands out around the same time of BSB and NSYNC but they never had a #1 album in the country so they trusted him in that sense the man hunt for Lou happened in 2006 because of the Ponzi scheme he played not the lawsuit from the infamous BSB AND *NSYNC
@laminage6 жыл бұрын
He still had alot of "Juice" in The Industry, and at one point he was worth 300 Million, he also owned Pizza Restaurants, TCBY Yogurt Stands and the like. Also after the success of Backstreet Boys, and N'Sync he felt that third time was the charm. Yet alot of Boy Bands don't make it. One True Voice in the UK where their Manager was Pete Waterman who since the 1980's was the Man with The Golden Hand who launched the Careers of so many Groups with his Partners Matthew Stock and Scott Aitken. Rick Astley, Princess (Say I'm Your Number One), Kylie Minogue and Banarama. Members of 911 and Atomic Kitten were discovered on a Show he Hosted called "The Hitman & Her" as dancers. He was so big that Simon Cowell followed him around like a Punk. They didn't make it. Then there was a Fellow named Sean Conlon in a 90's Boy Band called Five who tried to come back on The Voice UK but nobody turned their chair around for him, same thing with Daniel Pearce on The X Factor who was in One True Voice, he didn't get to do the Live Shows so you know nothing is guaranteed.

This show started in 2000. Unfortunately, BSB was the first to try filing law suits but that was around 2002 or so. So about this time is when BSB was probably trying to fight him on a lot of things. He wasn't actually convicted til 2008.
@TaliAsh474 жыл бұрын
@BNO97 ! I know Nsync did as well. But I know that BSB was the first to sue. Nsync followed suit. Also, I said around 2002, not that it was 2002. I don't exactly know the exact year it started, but I do know that he was not convicted until the late 2000's.

I used to watch it with my kids. I just found out that my SIL's cousin was a finalist on this show. He went on to be one of the Chippendales, and now he is an MC in Las Vegas. Wild!

Went down a rabbit hole and ended up here and can honestly say, I’m glad I made it here. These were the days! I loved this show & even saw o-town in concert back in high school when they came to my city. It’s a shame the music climate was changing and boy/girl groups were being phased out. If this show had came out about a few years earlier, O-Town could’ve been up there with the some of the best. Definitely not *NSYNC or BSB level of course but they’d be in the conversation for sure 😂

watching this show and wanting to be in a group myself i quickly realized they wanted a group with "stereotypical" looking men wasnt for me. i would need to have both girls and guys in one group to complement my feminine nature. i feel i have a balance of masculinity and femininity but i wouldnt work in a all male band. so sadly i never went to the auditions. if it were now a days i would have more of a chance cause of the whole gender fluidity.. i wanna be in a group where the girls are sexy but tomboy ish and the guys are hot but have a flamboyant side also.
