My interpretation of the video: Abdul Hannan is tired from everything. Tired of himself, from society, from world. The shot of market where he rant about humanity is soo brilliant that he chose darkness over crowded place. Lost in this world .. There’s longing in his eyes but his heart is tired. Depression and anxiety taken over his body but waiting for some kind of hope. With his shattered heart longing for long-gone hope. Kaavish: With completely drastic contrast he says some secret should let out for infinite possibilities. Telling fellow companion to listen his own heart. His verse reminds me of kintsugi. For example collect those shattered pieces of heart and mend with love and hope. For that hope which is waiting for him to come but he couldn’t see it because of the darkness which is overshadowed. He’s telling the other to unveil the darkness, to welcome the lost hope and happiness to see what’s waiting for him. Props to the video narration team. It has been shot so well.

The Most Realistic and Relatable shot was when Kavish is singing their verses, and Hannan was sitting on stairs and looking down with despair and confusion. This was most authentic and most brilliant depiction of condition he is facing. As I read the English captions of this song, I realise that this song is a true testament to the beauty of the Urdu language and it's words. There is so much power and depth to the words that just 3-4 of them have the ability to fully convey an entire set of circumstances and visualise the narrator's feelings in the mind of one who understands Urdu. And yet, entire sentences are needed to deliver just a watered down version of it in English and other languages. Absolutely beautiful, the singers, the musicians, the set, the entire team, and most of all, Urdu!

I believe this song perfectly captures the emotions experienced by the youth in Pakistan. At the beginning, we see an elderly woman surrounded by roses, symbolizing her life's work, sitting in a contemplative half-light, perhaps waiting to pass on her legacy to the younger generation. Abdul Hanaan is a young man who is beginning to understand the world around him. He sings of inner turmoil and the despair he sees in the world, his hope flickering like a dim light. When he steps into the bright light, the elderly woman's eyes brighten with hope, offering him a flower as a symbol of encouragement, though it's clear it's not enough to solve everything. As Abdul Hanaan ascends the staircase, he sees the locked door. He pauses halfway and sits down while still clutching the rose, observing the world around him and unclear of his next steps. Then, Kaavish, with a touch of grey hair, sings of finding strength and hope from within most likely having been in that same position. Finally, Abdul Hanaan hums along Kaavish's melody, signifying his understanding of the message.

I think it's a bit limiting to only connect the song to the struggles of youth. I am sure that older people struggle with depression and anxiety as well. They've not conquered it. They have simply gained certain insights and perspectives but I find it unfortunate that almost every melancholic song gets interpreted in a way that centers the youth. We have no idea how isolating it is for older folks to go through their struggles with uncertainty, loneliness, lack of acceptance, loss of life etc because unlike the youth, they're supposed to have it all figured out and to have reached the pinnacle of wisdom (at least, that's what society thinks it should be) when life is an endless tapestry of unpredictable events featuring both victories and losses, pain and solace, joy and misery.

The storytelling in this song is kamaal! Abdul Hannan's character shows the depressed, demotivated, and most of the present loyal people who are true in their dealings and love but eventually are sad deep inside because of the dry response and dead energies from the society. Kaavish, whereas, is our motivating voice! First part is us and second part is the conscience & moral sense!
