The Yum Cha here in Australia is bloody expensive and the serving amount of each dish is much smaller than in Hong Kong, and almost every dish is charged at a price of large, supreme..... l don't know about the one you went to, but the one I go Shark Fin Inn is terrible. You got to have at least 5 dishes to fill up your stomach, about $50 per head. You can have all you can eat dim Sims for the same price at China Bar in Burwood.

體諒下啦!大部分餐馆点心部都無钱赚,主要是拉客吃晚餐至能够開支平衡。呢間金百合依家算是生意比较好,初期几个月根本是唔掂,如果餐馆唔是属于大樓本身集團,给埋租金可能都顶唔到,依家生意唔错亦是赚得好微。点心部人工非常高,只是大佬都两千幾,两个副手都千八,下面两三个工资亦唔低,樓面一班人,又有两个经理。点心主要是肉類,货本贵到飛起,真是唔容易维持,加上平時生意亦是一般,平時睇上來覺得客人多是因為無限時間,客人停留時間比較長。所以好多餐馆点心部拉上補下能够维持已经是非常好,之后赚钱就靠炒餐部。呢种餐馆没烧腊檔都有烧腊部,加上甜品部門,就算計在点心部都要人手,各部門的員工税金,退休金同福利,政府方面各種付费,可以想像餐馆开支有幾大,能够生存都唔容易。但是我个人觀点最大無奈,想吃個靓蛋挞都無,依家墨尔本点心好水准的餐馆真是一間都無!多年前的大班算是最好!加上依家好多点心都偷工減料,就好似 China Bar 工廠制作的叉烧包之前是好吃,依家材料贵,叉烧给少佐,當然味道亦差好多!如果去Springvale 工場買返屋企加熱,價钱平四成。至于作者觉得好多点心味道唔错,但是做吃的朋友或者对吃方面有经验都知道,墨尔本吃方面的水准大不如前……但是各样开支大,唔卖贵亦好难生存!等于 Box Hill 华人杂货店买同样牌子的猫山王榴莲,在 Springvale 至少低七澳币,竞争,地点租金是一个大问题。悉尼华人区烧鸭一隻38左右,墨尔本就46以上,每个地区都存在好多影响!澳洲的生活在病情後亦同好多國家一樣,通貨膨胀好嚴重,昔日的美好就好似往日的香港,漸漸遠去……

@@cho8494 yes you're right. Sydney have better and much more variety Asian food because of higher competition and higher Asian population there.
