Great episode, and interesting to see the work that the analyst do behind the scenes. Feel we will get a better idea of where England truly are at this Saturday.

What's the story behind the samurai sword Guy Porter is holding in the dressing room post the Japan game?
@darthmong71962 жыл бұрын
It's a ceremonial katana that's presented by Japan to their opposition.

Really interesting episode but for my taste too much data driven. Last thing I would want to do during half time would be being confrontational by numbers and analysis on a laptop 😄

🤣Comical the people on here ranting about analysts! They are all a support mechanism not brainwashing FFS. I'm still seeing plenty of innovation and instinctive skills in all matches...

it is worrying seeing the level to which analysts are involved, this is Eddie's big brother surveillance rugby in action- it won't work. Strip creativity and intuition out of the game and you'll go nowhere and have a confused and disjointed group of players. The french play off instinct and are the best in the world. No amount of data analysis can match this.
@TW-ks3pn2 жыл бұрын
If you think the French aren't doing similar levels of analysis you're deluded

I agree with you Henry. I believe it will lead us to formulaic and sterile rugby. Imagine you took this approach with parenting. Your kids wouldn’t learn any independence or decision making. No wonder there is a lack of leadership. You don’t learn and earn confidence and assertiveness by being told what to do all the time.
@NTL5782 жыл бұрын
I agree, it’s all so clinical and corporate. The best teams to watch so far have been the ones just playing with patriotism Argentina, Italy, Scotland, France. I’ve no doubt that these teams use tech stats etc. But it seems like overload, ‘sticky words’.😮
@owenbrash17502 жыл бұрын
No wonder players seem to lack instinct, more analysts in this set up than proper skills coaches and people encouraging players to express themselves in their play
@JulieDorsetBelle2 жыл бұрын
They were just highlighting one aspect of the support team FFS - if you were a regular viewer of these you'd know that. Data analysis is through all sport now...and it works!
