Gatekeepers will lambast West's use of sampling (old haggards are always denigrating the hip hop genre and modern music in general due to nostalgia), but I thought it was a brilliant use of 21st Century Schizoid Man, and West is quite literally the embodiment of the 21st Century Schizoid Man. I actually went ahead and listened to West's whole track, towards the end he outright discusses suicidal ideation, I thought it was really fitting for a 'schizoid man'. Props to Mr. Lake for recognizing the brilliance of West's song. May he rest in peace and his King Crimson legacy carry his name for more generations to discover, whether through Kanye West or otherwise

@@anneslater5437 Yes, I'm sure his continuous praise and use of West's song on his own tour was just a show of diplomacy and avoidance of how he 'really feels'. Gatekeeping against modern music is a tumorous trend amongst the aging.
@Rob_M_83 жыл бұрын
That’s complete ignorance. The song works perfectly with the sample. And most of Kanye Wests albums are brilliant. If you don’t like hip hop that’s fine, you don’t have to, but it’s pure ignorance to call him “meaningless” when he’s got a discography as good as his. It’s like me calling Mozart shit because I’m not into classical music, that would be absolutely moronic
