OAK Park has that East Coast/Cold Steel/MDFS vibe to me and Whitehaven is straight down south bumping. Cadence for Cadence, Whitehaven has battle cadences on lock. Oak Park cadences were more along the lines of show/entertainment. Whitehaven with the Win. Both drumlines do THEIR style well. I love Oak Park snares and how clean the are on the Black Max heads.

GREAT battle! Whitehaven is a high school heavy hitter. I've never seen Oak Park. Let's see how it goes: Presence- WH:10 OP:8 Uniformity- WH: 10 OP: 9 Cleanliness- WH: 9 OP: 8 Material- WH: 10 OP: 7 Difficulty- WH:10 OP: 7 Musicality- WH: 7 OP: 5 Overall score: WH: 9.3 OP: 7.3 Snares- WH: 10 OP: 9 Tenors: WH: 9 OP: 6 Multi Tenors: WH: 9 OP: 5 Basses: WH: 10, OP: 6 Cymbals: WH: 8 OP: 6 Overall: WH: 9.4, OP: 6.4 Final score: WH: 9.35, OP: 6.85 Oak Park is more of a typical high school line that I'm used to: one REALLY good subsection and the rest emerging. There's nothing wrong with this because they're still kids and aren't at the college level. Schools like Whitehaven are the exception because these programs usually have faithful alumni who marched in a strong college line and come back to teach the kids and even feed them into their college alma mater's program. Side note: It seemed as though in the beginning, OP knew that their snares were strong and they wanted to go head to head with WH. WH, on the other hand, seemed more interested in battling line against line. This is a very interesting difference in how the lines seem to be taught. Not wrong, just different.

Who are the percussion instructors for each group? Both did an outstanding job. Did Oak Park's band director used to play snare for NCAT around 2011, 2012, etc? OP snares were clean though. I like WH quints too.
