The Oakley Holbrook Mix is a combination between the classic Holbrooks and the Holbrook Metal, containing plastic frames and metal earpieces. Close up shots and two thumbs up for these stylish and fun sunglasses. These ones come with Oakley's "Matte Black Tortoise" frames, silver and black earpieces and Oakley's new sapphire Prizm Polarized Lenses.

Sorry i know this is old. Are you saying the glare onbthe inside of the lenses is a defect?

No, I wouldn't call it a defect. It is slightly distracting if you notice it or look for it. Obviously the farther away from your face a lens is, the more likely it is to reflect light.

Ben, I was looking at the regular Holbrook's, and I found the mix. So you mention that you went with the mix over the regular, but then you mention the metal takes away from the look. Do you still prefer the mix or looking back would you go with the regular? Good review you're the only person I found that actually mentions the fact that there are different versions of the Holbrook.

Hi David, So, I think the earpieces take away from the classic Holbrook look, but not exactly in a negative way. They are different, no worse, no better. I like the feel of the metal ear pieces over the plastic and I am glad I bought the Mix, I think they are a good combination of style from both the Holbrooks and the Metals.

I got the Crosshair 1.0 a few years ago for $200 the price is reasonable considering the frame is all metal.

Could the sounds be from the metal temple o-matter front combo? I h ave the Custom Holbrooks. No creaking sounds at all. :) If getting a premium feel is important than I don't think Oakley's is the brand to look at. I'd go with Ray-Ban Wayferers. They look premium.And I am planning to order my first pair of non-polarized (first..see if I like the fit..in 58mm).

Hey Anderson, I completely agree with you. The creaking has almost completely subsided. I think these sunglasses are great for using them on the boat, or going to the beach, but I think the price point is a bit high.

You should reach out to Oakley I’ve had sunglasses that have lenses that aren’t cut properly, they should replace them under warranty.

Hey Matthew, thanks for the tip. Surprisingly, the frames and lenses seem to fit MUCH better now. I'm not sure if they just needed to be worn in but they're doing pretty great now.

Hi Beto, I spent $125 for them and I feel like that is a reasonable price, however I was able to get them heavily discounted with Oakley SI. $185 isn't a bad price, but it's gonna be up to you to figure out if you're satisfied with the purchase.

I have seen and tried these ones. These are exclusively for big very tall guys which obviously have big heads. They don't look good on guys with small heads. They look retro like police guys sunglasses from the 70s.

Glare on the inside of the lens? I've never noticed that when wearing a pair of polarized shades. Parasol brand has addressed that. Putting an anti reflective coating on the inside. Italian made. Not cheap. The only sunglasses maker to address that iirc.

Yeah, $314 for these is completely outrageous. I like the sunglasses, I enjoy wearing them and I think they are decently constructed, but for $314 you could find tons and tons of better options.

@@bensilver5656 well a mate works at an optometrist and he can get them for me at $195 so that's a better price - the Holbrook Metals - Gun metal grey prizim polarised. I looked at the blue ones but I figured the grey would deal with scratches better

Hey Maximus, When worn close to the face, it is difficult to see the wearer's eyes, but the further from the face, and the more sunlight that gets between the eyes and lenses, the easier it is to see. Short answer? Yes, people can see your eyes, but not very well.

Only thing I personally disliked is the long arms because I also wear a hat most the time and it moves the glasses when I put the hat on and feels a little awkward. I also did not pay full price. Good vid bud and cheers. Haha 🍻
