Oakley Standard Issue Multicam Kitchen Sink

I've been using this bp as a travel bp (not hiking or anything, mainly plane or road trips) for the last 5 years ( black stealth version) and can reassure you that the only con of this bag is its weight... what a heavy bag! Due to the numerous pieces of solid metal in this bag, it makes this baby weighs a lot when empty and in the long term (if you have to carry it for long periods of time) it does make it a bit uncomfortable. if the solid metal parts on it were made of a lighter material would def. raise its level. It is not a cheap bag (it was 260 Canadian dollars at that time) and I believe they could've chosen lighter materials without sacrificing the durability. Aside from its weight, it is a great bag, would never be my EDC bag because of what I mentioned before but it looks hella good and it actually takes a beating! P.s: THe only thing that managed to get ''destroyed'' was one of the metal rings that holds the metal cord in place and a bit of the paint of the ''hooks'' on the front of the bag.

I just got one.. so far I love how heavy and durable it feels. I just wish there was more space. Im packing for a couple day camping trip and the thing is absolutely stuffed. I have a solar panel and power station and a large tarp in it though. It better stand up to my eceryday and hiking usage for how expensive it was.

They didn’t add grommets to the bottom of the back so as to preserve the “water proof” nature of that compartment, is my guess.

Any idea if there's any meaningful difference between the original kitchen sink backpack and the newer "SI" kitchen sink? As far as I can tell, it's just a couple new camouflage patterns but I could be missing something

Yes but it would have to go in the overhead bin as it is too big to fit under the seat

I’m not an expert but is this backpack waterproof? Does this backpack get bulky when you fill it up with stuff? And is this a good backpack to use for traveling to Paris, France? That being said, Paris has a lot of pick pocketers so is this bag aint-theft ?

No it is not waterproof. It will get bulky depending on how much stuff you put in it. It’s a good backpack to travel with because it hold a lot but it is on the larger side. The main pocket is harder to get into thanks to the clips on the front.

I have this bag since it came out ten years ago, the black with red accents. Cons are it’s dry weight and if you wanna get to something opening gets annoying. The pros are that it’s very very durable and well made. At least the first one when it came out. I prefer my 5.11 back pack. Easy and light.

The KITCHEN SINK, what year was it released, I'm more of an OKALEY EYEGLASSES and their gear before LUXOTTICA CORPORATION bought them out and the only OKALEY EYEGLASSES I'll be using is the FROGSKINS, it hasn't changed much at all those baby's came out on 1985 at the time I was already into BMX RACING and whenever I see the FROGSKINS, it reminded me how good does it feels when I very young especially the 80's at a time it was revolutionary and very new wave😎🤙🤟🤘✌🤞and PART ON DUDE!!!!🥳😎

Haha.. "laptop compartment.." it's for a gun man, that's why there's direct access zipper to it. This is a go bag. And those holders in the front compartment look like they're for pistol or rifle magazines. I'm assuming you're not a firearms guy to pick up on that or test it out haha..

Really wish I could share the picture from the Oakley Standard issue site where it clearly shows a laptop being stored in that pocket. I’m guessing you are completely a firearms guy since you couldn’t see that pocket for any other use than that to carry a firearm, even though there is no material inside to secure a holster for a handgun. As for the pockets in the front, yes you could probably put magazines in them but seeing as it’s not a quick access pocket, I probably wouldn’t. ​@@eyespy0099 haha well they put a laptop on the site cause marketing can't put a gun.. but ya, that's why they put the external access. a lot of go bags have this feature but no laptop bags do. you don't need a holster because the pocket is the holster. its great because it allows you to carry with your silencer on as well. you don't need extra mags to be quick access, you'd just need them to be accessible without having to unlatch the top lid but id be interested to see if they fit..

@@maximusjoseppi5904 if there is any place in that bag that was made with a specific intent to contain a firearm, it’s that tan soft shell pocket at the top with the felt lining. Unlike the laptop pocket it’s actually shaped like it was meant for that purpose and you talk about how the laptop pocket is for quick access when the top pocket is even better for that purpose being the first that is presented when you face the bag towards you.
