Eric Koston pretending he's not just living a life of leisure is a pretty good laugh.
@IDiggPattyMayonnaise Жыл бұрын
Right? Everyone says he's an asshole and elitist. He's his own boss. No one is telling him what to do. Haven't seen him to anything worth notice on a skateboard in years. Not saying he doesn't deserve a lot of what he has, but he certainly has a reputation that's not flattering

Surf tip: don’t try to drive from the rail itself (leaning on it) while leveraging the middle of the board. Pop up and get that back foot immediately over the back middle part of your furthest fins back. That’s where all your control comes from. You drive from the rear fins. And if you keep your board on its rails it will constantly accelerate and you’ll gain even more control from your back foot being squared over you furthest back fins (not sure if you’re on a quad or thruster). Also, until you can generate speed by alternating rails smoothly in accordance with the wave, get a freaking quad set up, and make sure your fins have a shit ton of base so you get as much lift and drive possible. Cause, until you have speed it’s hard to generate more, find good lines in the wave, and complete maneuvers. Speed is everything!! Go get a Rob Machado Seaside in a 5’7 (I’m guessing your appropriate size), it’s sorta like a skateboard and it’s super user friendly because the bottom contour and fin design promotes speed, and it’s such that you don’t sacrifice anything in great surf either. Talk to Kalani! He knows Rob, get the hook up, surf that board, thank me later when you’re ripping in no time. No one but Kalani can rip his foam boards better than pros on tour. Kalani is probably one of the all time underrated GOAT of surfing. It would be like me buying your deck thinking I’m gonna be half a Koston. Trust me, and I thought that as a kid when you and Mike Carroll were my ultimate skateboard heroes.

Haven't seen Koston do any legit skating in over 15 years. Hes not lying when he said he skates for fun. Hope he puts effort into this part. I was big fan during the yeah right era, but watching someone that could do any trick and skate anything he wants however he wants, then just basically goes goofing around any time he was on his board was a huge turnoff.
@rawxtir Жыл бұрын
thats what your takeaway is? ok, i'll bite- howzbout this- check back in with this video comment thread in 30 years and honestly tell us that you still skate at all, much less with the consistency and style he has now lmfao
