Being from Pakistan I always admired Sachin and Dravid. Quite, humble, and doesn't show-off like modern cricketers. With a billion admirers in India and millions in Pakistan (I assure you there are millions who admired his talent), he could have received anything on a gold platter. But he just played his game the way it's suppose to be played. He spent time, energy, sweat to master the art. You don't judge a man's character by what he can do and what he has to show. Instead you judge a man's character who knows what he's capable of doing, accept defeat with humility and then turn around and recognize that he must work harder to achieve what he wants. His story about his 1st test against the best bowling attack in the World [and we are talking about the late 80's and early 90's Pakistan team] shows you how humble he is. To accept defeat and recognize that his opposition is better; and then work hard and come back and score 50 is nothing short of amazing. Of all the Indian vs Pakistan rivalry story, I've heard a lot of players talk crap about each other. Virendar Sehwag talking crap, on our side was Shoaib Akhtar's big mouth and even bigger ego; I never heard Sachin (and Dravid) say anything bad about anyone. They both just kept their mouth shut, their head down, their minds laser-focused and let their talent & skills do all the talking for them. This is by far the best compliment I can give another man. It’s a true fact .. back in the early 90s I was about 8-10 years from a lower class family in Assam... We had a radio and no TV ... my father was somewhat a fan of cricket and used to listen to cricket commentary on the radio. This particular name “Sachin” made me sit next to the radio for hours and I cannot explain the thrill and joy for every runs he scored, every wicket he took , every catches, every run outs he made ... meant everything to me...best part of it that the commentary was in Hindi and English... and I had no clue about English and little to none control over Hindi but this person made me to learn while I was enjoying his game. I know this could be common or normal to many but as I came out of my state and I know what difference it makes in my life.

Not being biased towards anyone in the indian team, the new generation team must sit and watch the matches these legends played ! There is a lot to learn other than social media addiction, ads, sledging, sipping unwanted koffee here and there !! 😊 Being humble off field, dedicated on field, committed towards the team victory rather than personal achievements, not behaving rudely with fans, most important being supporting each other within the team !
