Chinese Flower Painting Peony Demonstration by Ning Yeh

We have a special treat as a celebration for the successful completion of our OAS 108 Flower Challenge. We challenge our OAS Extended family to paint for 108 days straight focusing on Chinese flower painting. As a special option, we encouraged participants to paint their way through Ning Yeh's four book series 108 Flowers in just 108 Days.
Amazingly we had quite a few people successfully complete the challenge with many more participating in some form whether it was partially or at their own pace.
This is the first time we've published a beginning to end demonstration of Ning Yeh doing an unsimplified composition similar to the ones that hang in his gallery.

I have a large horse brush-about this size, that was sent to me several years ago, but I was always afraid of using it for anything except calligraphy. I’m now using it for MANY different subjects. It doesn’t hold as much paint; but I don’t mind re-loading because it holds its point AND I have more control over the strokes.. I don’t think I need to call after rewatching this..the technique I spoke of used an under painting first, then peony strokes over the dried circle, with thick-thinner white… Going to go try your Dads method over my dried circles! Thank you!
