I think this is the earliest recording of this song in existence. I remember reading something about the lyrics being written in the car on the way to the radio station.
@danielwarren31386 жыл бұрын
It may be, but I don't think that's related to the lyrics being written in the car. The lyrics that were written in the car on the way to the recording session were the edited final verse "Mr Sifter sold me songs", which clearly isn't in this version.
@ForestKicks4 жыл бұрын
According to Noel in the Definitely Maybe 10th anniversary documentary they had an instrumental mix of the song but needed to record the vocals, and were on the way to Johnny Marr's recording studio in Manchester when Liam asked Noel whether he had any lyrics for the last verse (which he didn't). So he just wrote some on the spot in the car, and apparently the inspiration for the "Mr. Sifter" lyric was they had stopped at the traffic lights outside Sifters records, and Noel just took it from there

I cheated and checked wiki. Tony McCaroll (91-95) and Alan White (95-04) made the drums to this and they were superlative and still are. Faultless and bang on regarding timing. Ageless 💙🔥

How did Liam go from that to sounding like a god only a year later? No seriously, I'm asking.
@shartoholic3 жыл бұрын
His voice is great here, it’s lovely and clear and this was only a demo to get the ideas down. He would add the attitude and swag later on, he lost some clarity but Liams voice became more about character than good “technical” singing
@themightyme23303 жыл бұрын
@@shartoholic ye sure you're right but you have to admit there was a bit of an improvement in the actual vocalisations. Was it because he got a bit older and his voice got deeper?
@shartoholic3 жыл бұрын
@@themightyme2330 I don’t think he was TOO much older i think most likely producer advice was for Liam to sing more nasally, these demos weren’t too far removed from the album recordings… I don’t know if you’ve seen the video of Oasis playing “All Around The World” before they got signed, Liam’s voice sounds crispy in it, i think the younger Liam just hadn’t found his attitude yet
@themightyme23303 жыл бұрын

That was rude! Ever been sick with anything? Most rock singers are loud! They do other stuff too, duh? But other than getting hoarse sometimes, they don't have to hurt or suffer. Just sayin'! I think Liam would tell it like it is! It's not a load of bull.
