Probably because the very idea of it being a remix is subjective. It definitely isn't a traditional remix. This version has entirely new arrangements, guitar tracks and vocals specifically recorded for this version. Some people would call it a retake, rework, revamp. I know full well the producers I've worked with wouldn't call this a remix. The art of a remix is usually changing what's there, maybe with minor additions. Not an entirely new recording, with new lead vocals by a different lead vocalist recorded a decade after the original.
