It wasn’t actually Nirvana, the lawsuit they were referring to was from Neil Innes’s legal team regarding Oasis’s song “Whatever” as Liam mentions. If you listen to 0:13 of his song “How sweet to be an idiot” it’s literally the identical melody lol. And yeah idk why the journalist said Nirvana, probs got the wrong info and the band didn’t really know who was suing them except for that it was for “Whatever” as they probs had management handling it all as they toured.

The first line of melody does sound the same melody but the second is totally different. If I were to give a percentage similarity based on first 2 lines I would give 10%.
