Oasis of the Seas Good and bad!!! Review 2023

we went on Oasis during the first year. LOVED it and have cruised RC many times!! Going back on it again and bringing the kids and grandkids. Glad there is an escape room, that's new! The Pros are great and what we always loved about that ship. The cons are not bad but I understand about the outdated little details. Thanks for your review and looking forward to more!!

Good info and tips on the ship. You should try MSC World Europa. They copied a few of the things from Royal Caribbean but makes it their own. That ship is beautiful

@@QCadventures The MSC World Europa was very good when it comes to food. Because this is a new ship, they have improved quite a bit in terms of food and customer service. I was pleasantly surprised and has no issues with them at all. FYI, the cruise with Royal Caribbean a lot and are picky about our food and service. I haven't yet cruise with celebrity but if I were going to rate the cruise line by choice, it would be Royal Caribbean follow by princess and MSC. They are tie. Then carnival. I don't even care for NCL

We did that escape room on oasis and your 100% right it's mine boggling. Were on oasis in 33 more days for transatlantic cruise. Where going from Barcelona to Florida for 15 days. Staying in Barcelona the week prior 5 days before to just hang out in beautiful Barcelona. Yes the TVs are way small but she's going into dry dock in 2 weeks and rumor has it all new carpets new paint new TVs. 🤞

Good reiew. We sailed on Oasis in December 2019 right after it had been refuurbished in dry dock. It would have been' helpful to note it's refurbishments, including pool deck slides, new furnishings on lido deck and the addition of Playmaker's Sports Bar to Boardwalk.

I haven't been on Oasis of the Seas in years, but I have a sailing planned this year. I've been on several of the Oasis class ships and Oasis has the largest Solarium. I heard she was refurbished in 2019. I experienced the Crown Lounge on Freedom of the Seas and it was fantastic! I sat there almost every day reading and looking out over the ocean and really enjoyed it. It's too bad they put the lounge for the higher loyalty tiers inside with no windows now. Compared with the newer ships, the thermal suite is also a disappointment on Oasis. Four heated loungers, two saunas and a rain shower are not worth $99/week. I'm really glad to hear the food is good since I'll be on the ship for two weeks. Thanks for the info!

Soft drinks are not free. You can have water juice iced tea and hot tea and drip coffee for free in the windjammer buffet anytime it is open. RC does sell a soda pass and a pass that all non alcoholic drinks.

We sailed on Oasis of the Seas on October 15. It was our first cruise and it was fabulous. However, I was disappointed because I looked forward to the Escape Room, but it was closed for the duration of our cruise. It was a let down! 😢 The Windjammer food was underwhelming, but the pastries were tasty. Now, the Crabcakes at the Main Dining Room was one of the BEST Crabcakes, I ever tasted. Unfortunately, it was served only one time during our cruise. Oh, another favorite was the Pizza at Sorrento. Our balcony room was superb! The housekeeper provided meticulous room service, with a delightful attitude. Yes, I would cruise again, not necessarily on the Oasis of the Seas...

Depends on your kids, early if they are early risers. If not, like 10 and 2 for daytime. Buffets are hard with littles anyway! They do have a beeper system for the omelets. So as a mom, I would say order your omelet or two, and then take your little around and once they have their first plate ready your omelet is done. Less waiting for you. And dare I say…. Hot food!! Enjoy!!

Yes I do! Brunch 9:30 to 1:30 on most days. An hour or so later on embarkation day. I don’t think they have brunch on port days. Dinner which has reservations starts at 5:30

Thanks for posting! I am considering the Oasis for a July 2025 sailing date but I’m concerned with the age of the ship. Your cons such as the *AC*, smaller TV, etc would also be cons for me. I was also considering the Harmony which is a newer ship for that same timeframe but I prefer Oasis’s itinerary over Harmony’s..😓🤷🏽‍♂️

It depends on where you are cruising and how much you drink? Caribbean, I tend to say yes, Europe or Asia I tend to say no. We can discuss further if you need.

Yes they do! The names for formal night have changed but there is always an opportunity to dress your best. Some are less formal, but the great part is all dress super-formal to not is welcomed. No one is out of place.

Where was the chef's table dinner held? We did in 2019. It was in the suite holder's lounge. This took away from the experience because there were several loud conversations in the lounge.

I’m looking at World Europa and Oasis , I haven’t decided yet. I’ve just taken Grandiosa MSC, shows were awesome. The food was too repetitive, 2 restaurants options (include 😮) Luckily we were on Aurea Class, so we had access to a menu breakfast , flexible hours at lunch /dinner time. Otherwise it would have been more frustrating

@@QCadventures I ended up picking MSC Aurea . Which is a bit better than ‘regular cabin’. The itineraries are pretty similar. We’re going to be at an event in Barcelona that ends on May 31st and World Europa departs exactly on that day. If I should take any other company I’d have to stay there waiting for the 🚢. As we know Spain quite well it would be boring. I hope everything will be all right 😉 .

Did they have both sides of the Windjammer open? When we sailed on Oasis back in October they would only have half of it opened with the other side closed with the exception of debarkation day which they opened both sides. Also we were in a balcony room as well on deck 9 and the AC was not the greatest. I’m bringing a portable fan when I sail on her again in August.

Enjoy your first cruise!! Find out when on line check in is, and be early getting on there and checked in. That helps you get a early boarding time and you can eat lunch and see the ship while there are less people around. Pick a thing or two you want to do, and then wing the rest of it. Don’t over plan yourself!! Have breakfast in the main dining room at least once!!! Enjoy!!

I enjoyed my cruise, which was on the Oasis of the Seas. Everyone made you feel like family. If you would like to buy them a new ship or design it for them, go for it. You can't make people happy all time. We like that they had venues in the middle of the ship ... some people do get motion sickness, and no I'm not one of them. Just because my experience on the Oasis of the Seas, was wonderful, they have me and my family taking another cruise.

Pleanty of people watch it to unwind especially on longer voyages. Obviously nobody books a cruise with the express intent of watching tv but especially if your sailing with children or people who can’t handle the constant sensory battering of the ship the tv will be used.

Lots of people watch TV just before bedtime. If you don't like a big TV then your one of the very few. When I book a hotel and it has a small old TV I don't go back.
