Very difficult game to play! On the turn you took 1 nectar in case it got stolen so you could take the nectar, if you take 2 nectar there and he steal 1 then you still end up with 1 nectar and 1 worm so I think it's always better to take both, unless you're planning not to play a bird next turn

Totally agree on that - I overthought it. He would steal a nectar regardless, so either way I would end up with a nectar and a worm in that case. But picking up 2 nectar gives me the chance to use them both if he doesn't steal right away.

Good game, tough starting hand there, and BHG is always a pain. I think in R3 the bluethroat was a mistake and you should have played Spoonbill. With your opponents board it would be very unlikely for them to win that EoR and waste two turns laying eggs. you also could have played the Plains Wanderer first, which would have gained an additional egg. Tough draws on the bonus cards too

I hesitated to lay eggs before getting another bird in my wetland on which I could lay them first, so I don't think I would have gone the route of the Plains Wandered first, despite the extra egg it would have gotten me. I also liked the Bluethroat's brown power - I assumed I would need to draw a couple more times to help with Visionary Leader. I do see your point, though.

@@FalafelWaffle81 I see that. Those starting BCs were lose/lose. Visionary leader along with Winter Feeder are the only BCs that require you to have leftover resources to get points, which is backwards as cards/food are valued at more than 1 point. Bluethroat in grasslands over Wanderer may have even been the move given how rest of game went, but pretty tough to pass on 5 bonus cards lol
