I know this is a little old, but wow, what a fantastic video. In about an hour I went from wtf to feeling ready to play. Given that Shea couldn't know in advance what to expect, his articulation of the various cards that came up and his thought process about what to do was very concise and easy to follow. Well done!

Correct me if I am wrong: When you have a massive army attacking a small force (like at 36:50 when Left Brain had 6 Warband attacking 1 Bandit), I believe you can opt to roll less dice, thus minimizing the odds of rolling those suicidal skulls.

That is correct. I’ll let Paulo know to add a note. Thanks!

Hi Shea! A long time fan of Rahdo here! I’m really happy to see you join his team. His enthusiasm and energy on showing the game are the best, but sometimes he definitely needs some help for more complicated game, like this one! Just a friendly suggestion: my favorite format of playthrough is having a first-person “player”. For example, let’s just assume the viewers as purple player. For other player’s turns, just show what they did very quickly. Try to explain the rationale only on purple’s turn (and even the rationale only for this turn’s move!) Then we can feel more immersed and more like how the real game feel (less like a tutorial and less 16minutes first turn). Nice video anyway! Excellent production.

that's a great observation, but the reason we try to usually show all of the player's motivation and thought process is so that each player's perspective can demonstrate a different strategy, and highlight different mechanisms, so we get the most idea of the game across to the audience in the tightest timeframe :)

For the very fist game do you use all the cards from all the packs in the box? or only the cards from the pack labeled B?
@RTFM2 жыл бұрын
I don't remember the starting packs exactly, but I know that you won't use every card in the box on your first game. Something like half of the denizen cards are saved in the archive and six of them will be added to your deck at the end of every game (with six others being removed, to keep the deck the same size)

Hey Shea. Since you already have an how to play video, I would have preferred that the runthrough would go a little bit less into the detail of how the game is played. I know there is a lot to explain in this game, so I think it would have been a bit smoother if you were only explaining why you were taking certain action and what you are going for. Might be difficult to do with this game tho. I'm still searching for more efficient ways to teach this game as I have not find a perfect way to do it yet but I still really like this game ;) Thanks for the video ;)
@rahdo3 жыл бұрын
it's a fair point, but the runthroughs are definitely intended to be to help people decide whether they want to buy, not to teach how to play. so the assumption is someone wouldn't watch shea's video until after they'd already bought the game :)
@Renegade_KT3 жыл бұрын
@@rahdo So runthrough are intended for before buying a game while how to play videos are intended for those who already bought the game? I guess I never see it that way haha. I though runthrough were kind of a quick overview of a game 😅. I must admit that I already own the game and I came to watch yet another video of the game because I like this game so much and I like to see how others like/dislike it. Thanks for the quick answer and thanks again for the video. Have a wonderful day 😁
@rahdo3 жыл бұрын
@@Renegade_KT the runthroughs do serve double duty, no doubt, but they're no replacement for a proper rules runthrough. at best i think they server as a way to make it easier to read the rules, but you still need to read them rules! :)

Can you flip a card during battle and use it ? For example : You are defending and at that moment you choose to reveal your trump card which you had facedown to use it , So can we flip and use that card power during defending ( I'm confused cause technically it's not your turn but it's a free action at the same time)
@lylerosen16643 жыл бұрын
it is a free action but it's not your turn so you can't take any "actions". could be wrong but this is how I've been reading it.
@RTFM3 жыл бұрын
Lyle said it already, but no. Free actions can only be performed on your turn, so unfortunately you can't do that.

seems you didn't spend supply when did recover action😬

probably because shea ran through this instead of me. the irony being that if shea hadn't run through it, i would never have. so they're basically cutting off their nose to spite their face
