As a tip for using brown sugar instead of white sugar, one option is to microwave it gently with the butter (just enough to cream together) and then spread it over with a knife before adding the cinnamon.

I had an idea to put the raisins in with the boiling water, I was worried, but the bread comes out just as good, except for when I want one plain loaf, which is probably why you did your the other way lol Daaa have a great day and you young man are an amazing cook yay!!!

I made this today, I wanted to try something different. This is awesome~! it is a soft bread, so lends itself very well to the raisin cinnamon version. I sprinkled oatmeal on the top of the plain loaf ( I made one of each) after I put it in the pan for the second proofing. I also found I needed one extra cup of flour to get it to the exact consistency as shown in the video. Perfectly done @30 min ( my oven is not a convection oven. Thanks, bookmarked and will be a staple in my house OH to die for raisin bread!!!

I like your attention to detail. some nice healthy bread there. alternatively you could substitute the honey with something that is low GI, like date syrup or something. you could also use stevia, or xylitol, though I don't know if they bake very well.

I make honey, oat and nut buns. It makes a killer peanut butter and jelly or ham and cheese sandwich. They also freeze well so I can take out one or two as needed. My recipe is pretty much the same as yours. I use brown sugar which does produce a darker bread. Being time is not of the essence with me I prefer a slower rise bc it produces better flavor. You can raise bread in the fridge it just takes much longer but the taste is well worth it. Then you take it out, shape it and let it rise again at room temp for the second proofing before baking. :o)

It does seem like a lot of sugar for bread and you can cut it down some but not completely. Start by reducing it a few tablespoons are keep adjusting as you see fit!

Hi Kaleb, I wonder what I can substitute wholewheat flour if I don't have? How can I know if the dough is kneaded enough and how time will be affected if I'd like to try 1/2 recipe?
@WyseGuide10 жыл бұрын
Hi Gwen! Honestly I haven't tried another flour but I should think that all purpose should be fine in place of the whole wheat. The dough should be elastic and smooth when kneaded enough with a slight sticky texture. It may take a few times making it to get the right feel but don't worry you will! As far as half a recipe, the dough still needs to rise and bake the same amount of time, I have never cut it in half let me know how it goes!
@dudejayfood10 жыл бұрын
You can also use spelt flour instead of whole wheat flour and it works fine (I ALWAYS have spelt around)
