Dear Manjula.. Can we increase the quantity of curd from half cup to 1 cup.. Will it make any difference.. Also should the curd be fresh or a bit sour Do reply please. .
@bhusanur.cooking Жыл бұрын
😊Yes, you can increase the curd quantity to 1 cup. It will make them a bit more tender and add a nice tangy flavor. Regarding the curd, both fresh and slightly sour curd work well, so it's a matter of personal preference. Enjoy your delicious idlis!

Hello Manjula.. I tried this recipe today . They were nice and soft but i think the batter had thinned down a bit since I had added 1 cup curd instead of half cup. Also We get just super fine rava here in Delhi and i m not able to find course rava.. My idlies athough soft were flat to look at. Since i get super fine rava here can you suggest me some tips to get rhe idlies look like yours?? Love n Regards 💞
@bhusanur.cooking5 ай бұрын
Oh I see😊. Sorry for late replay. You can roast the fine rava with little bit of oil. Use one fistful of thin poha soaked in water and add to the mixture. This will help you to get super soft idli. Please try and share your feedback.

Dear Manjula... Hi I am contacting you after a long time.I hope you are doing well. Sometimes the idlies turn out nice n soft but once or twice they turned a bit hard as well.. what could have gone wrong ? I felt like asking you. So haven't made these for a while but want to make them again.. Can I use quaker instant oats here... I hope you reply. Love n regards.💕💕

Hello dear, I am good. Welcome back😊. Hope you are doing good too. Thank you for trying the instant idli recipe and sharing your feedback. May be there are several reason to turn idli harder 😊 Here are a few tips to help make your idlis softer and more spongy: Batter should be pouring consistency, add soda just before cook the idli & steam the idli on medium heat about 10-12 minutes. Hope this will help!!

But rava contains gluten...oats losses its health benefit when mixed with rava sooji...

Can we make it without soda or eno?
@bhusanur.cooking7 ай бұрын
You can make but idli will be hard😊
@kslpavitra835 ай бұрын
I made without eno, without soda. Came fluffy for me. Used 1/2 cup sooji to 1 cup rolled oats. You have to roast the sooji well. Dont soak it, just much with water, curd. Let it sit till the water in the cooker boils and then put the mixture in idli moulds and then steam. Will come fluffy
