The best thing I like about Rick is that he wasn't an asshole winner. He could've easily let all the fame a spoils of being a champion star racer get to his head, but at the end of the day he always remembers that he's just a normal person like anyone else. Recognizing before anyone that Molly/Eva had a great talent for racing and teaching her all he knew to make her better. Now he's passing the torch onto her knowing that she can be just as great if not an even better racer than her mother.

I also wished that Rick would have went with the Team to Oban but it's probably best that he left. Some might think he's selfish for bailing to think about his future but if had stuck around, odds are Molly would have never opened up to her father. She would have just went to Rick to talk given how understanding he is.

For anyone wondering about the final scores: Toros went 5-1 (Only lost to Earth Team) Aikka went 4-2 (Lost to Spirit then Toros) Earth Team went 3-3 (Lost to Toros, then Aikka, then Spirit) Spirit went 2-4 (Lost to Satis, then Rush, then Toros, then Aikka) Rush went 2-4 (Lost to Aikka, then Earth Team, then Toros, then Satis) Satis went 2-4 (Lost to Toros, then Earth Team, then Rush, then Aikka) Scoreboard is correctly even in this theory (18 wins and 18 losses for 18 races.) Aikka: (4-2) - Toros beat everybody except the Earth Team. - Lost to Spirit onscreen in episode 7. - Beat the Earth Team onscreen in episode 8. - Beat Spirit onscreen in episode 13. Spirit: (2-4) - Him appearing to be 3-2 before his second race with Aikka was a mistake. There was a 2-way tiebreaker clause that gave the 3rd seed to Oban to whoever had the better head-to-head score between 3rd and 4th place. If Spirit was in fact 3-2 at the start of his final race with Aikka, he would have already qualified as the 3rd seed because he beat the Earth Team. Additionally, Don and the race judges spoke about how Spirit needed to beat Aikka in order to tie with the Earth Team in overall score. - Toros beat everybody except the Earth Team. - Beat Aikka onscreen in episode 7. - Beat Earth Team onscreen in episode 11. - He was 2-3 before his final race against Aikka. Rush: (2-4) - Toros beat everybody except the Earth Team. - Had 1 win in episode 10 - Was clamoring at the beginning of the race against the Earth Team about how he needed the win against them. At that point, this most likely would have been the scoreboard. Toros: 3-0 (Beat the Earth team, then Satis, then Spirit) Aikka: 2-1 (Lost to Spirit, then beat Rush, then Satis) Rush: 1-1 (Lost to Aikka, then beat Spirit) Earth Team: 1-2 (Lost to Toros, then Aikka, then beat Satis) Satis: 1-2 (Lost to Toros, then beat Spirit, then lost to the Earth Team) Spirit: 1-3 (Beat Aikka, then lost to Satis, then Rush, then Toros) Besides the unfairly determined round robin schedule, a win for Rush would have put him in the top 3 at the halfway point in his playoffs run at 2-1. If the Earth Team was 1-3, the only racer he would have to seriously worry about catching up was Satis who was 1-2. So yes, the win against the Earth Team would have been monumentally important to his scoreline. - Got DQ'd after his loss to Toros for trying to kill him in episode 12, giving Satis a free win. Satis: (2-4) - Was 1-1 in episode 9, only losing to Toros and beating an unnamed racer. - In the 6th match, Spirit and Aikka, along with Toros and the Earth Team were paired together respectively. This left Rush and Satis. - Was given a free win after Rush was DQ'd.

This is mostly correct but there are a few things wrong. In the first round Spirit beats Aikka, Toros beats Molly (both shown), and Satis beats Rush (Satis and Rush are the only 2 left so it must be between them, and Satis wins as he had a point when he raced Molly, but he lost against Toros) In the second round Aikka beats Molly (shown), Toros beats Satis (he looses to Toros before racing Molly and Toros raced Molly in roind 1, so it must happen in round 2), and Rush beats Spirit (they are the only 2 left and Spirit only beats Aikka and Molly) In the third round Molly beats Satis (shown), Toros beats Spirit (Spirit already raced Aikka and Rush), and Aikka beats Rush (Aikka only looses to Spirit and Toros) In the fourth round Molly beats Rush (shown), Toros beats Aikka (Toros has already raced Satis and races Rush in round 5), and Satis beats Rush (at the end of round 4 Satis has 2 wins so he must win this race) In the fifth round Spirit beats Molly, Toros beats Rush (both shown), and Aikka beats Satis (Aikka ends on 4 wins and only has 2 before this race) In the final round Molly beats Toros, and Aikka beats Spirit (both shown). This gives Toros 5 wins, Aikka 4 wins, Molly 3 wins, and Spirit 2 wins. It's not clear what happens with the race between Satis and Rush, but most likely is that it wasn't held as neither could qualify for Oban even if they won. Satis would end up with 3 wins, but as he lost to Molly he wouldn't qualify, and Rush would have only 2 wins.

SilverArmoredWolf ugh no. In episode 11 it proved that Maya’s(Molly mother) ship was faulty and was going to blow. She signaled spirit to fly upwards and saved his life, though it looked like he attacked the ship to the spectators. That’s why he cried when he met Molly.

Found this show om TV when I was 10-12 yo, but wasn't really paying attention to the story inside the stuff I watched. Had this mistaken sidestory in my head: Rick had started investigating about the cult and reached the house that went ablaze shortly after, then he went somehow marked/infected by Canaletto and didn't share this with anyone. With this in mind, I thought he was departing for a pilgrimage and was doomed/resigned to die, and was smiling because he was not going to share his turmoil in the end.

Good scene w/the ship building & the little old guy dropping by. Love the tension of Toros, and the art/animation of the race. The upgrades were a lifesaver. Aikka coming through was awesome. Enjoyed the reactions. And an unexpected farewell scene for Rick. Great ep. 😎

So for the final standings are like this: Toros 1st place with 5 wins 1 lose Aikka 2nd place with 4 wins 2 loses Molly and super racer 3rd place 3 wins 3 loses Spirit 5th place 2 wins 4 loses Rush 6th place 1 win 5 loses I assume super racer got an automatic win against rush in the final race as rush was too injured and his racer too heavily damaged, and even with the win, super racer loses out to molly as the tie breaker goes to whoever won against eachother in a previous race, as molly beat super racer in the 3rd race, the tie is broken in her favor
