If you want to make hide so the player cant just sit in the closet all game, put a moving lava behind the wall of the closet. When you enter the closet a invisible button activates the moving lava. Make it take around 10 seconds to go into the closet and also make it invisible.

And with further you go, the faster the moving lava goes, like it starts at 10 seconds, drops to 9, 8, etc.
