I would like to express my great gratitude to you because you saved my money and helped me to avoid being exploited by mechanics. I was suffering from this damned code and I went to more than 5 gear repair experts and each of them gave me a different opinion with a cost ranging from 3000 to 6000 dollars ,all of them do not guarantee what will happen their repair, I saw your video and followed your advice, and the result was amazing with total cost $ 400 only.., so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much

@kilokoba6090, you're quite welcome, I made this video because of the exact reason you stated you experienced, it worked for me so I figured it would help others out also. thanks for taking the time to show your appreciation, most that benefit from this info say nothing.

You saved my 04 camry from the scrap yard!! A huge thank you for this video. Amco diagnosed the problem as a bad transmission. The p0776 since then popped up with the hard shift into 1/2 and hard jump into reverse. After finding your video and a Pre-owned ECU (matching serial numbers) from ebay you saved my camry!! A huge thank you to you!!

Wow Nelson, 541K on the clock and counting, that suggests to me that you're doing a top job on maintenance, happy to hear that my video was of help to keep her going... and you're quite welcome..

Thank you so much, you saved me thousands that were quoted by AAMCO to fix transmission on my Toyota Camry 2004. Same process worked on it and because 2002 to 2006 are all same generation Camrys, that means, you can add Toyota Camry 2002 - 2006 to your description as well. Thanks again.

That is a good video ,My 2003 Rav had code p0755 I send my ECU to upFix 10 days ago and they are going to send it back to me very soon I hope that will fix my problem too ,I did change the selenoid B but it didn't work.
@thediyyardie71922 жыл бұрын
Thanks Hung, It will usually correct that issue, as long as the car wasn't driven too much that condition to cause further damage the transmission, and you follow the relearn process exactly once you receive the ECU and install it..
@boostf-15092 жыл бұрын
Did you have to reprogram it or just do the driving for it to relearn
@thediyyardie71922 жыл бұрын
just drive for 20 minutes or so at an average speed of 25 mph, a few complete stops and then go, and reverse also, you should feel the shifting coming back to normal as you drive..

Great video, I have the same code plus two other codes. How did you determine it was the ECU and not the Transmission Control Module (TCM)? Thank you.
@thediyyardie7192 Жыл бұрын
@ronc1422, I actually tried replacing the shift solenoid first, that still didn't solve the issue, so I did some further research and found out that some of the solder points in the TCM melt over time, loosing contact and therefore creating this problem. They wanted almost 4 thousand dollars to rebuild the trans, so I suggested to the owner to try the remanufactured unit I used in this video and see, it fixed the issue, but you have to follow the relearn procedure once you get it installed, it won't work properly otherwise. there's a link in the description box above to where you can find a rebuilt TCM, good luck..

Friend I have a 2004 rav4 with the code p0776. The problem is when reverse goes in, the transmission kicks and when changing from first to second it does it very abruptly and sometimes it stops and then the change goes in. It also feels very heavy in first gear, is that the same thing that happened to you in your truck?
@thediyyardie71922 жыл бұрын
Hi Omar, if your Rav4 feels like the brakes are being applied when the transmission is shifting between first and second while driving, along with everything else you mentioned, yes that is exactly what the one in my video was doing.

Where did you send your ECU for repair?

I have the exact same problem. Hard shift into reverse. limping/power brake feeling of 1st into 2nd gear. 2nd to 3rd to 4th is just fine. Great video!

@@bullhorndax to be honest I don't remember the exact name of the site, this is actually a friend of mine car, what I did was to search the part number of the computer on google, several sites popped up, and she chose the the one with the quickest turn around time and cost, she had to send her old computer to them once she received the refurbished one in the mail, I think she paid $250 for the refurbished computer, plus an additional $150 which was refunded to her once they received her old computer. There are a few option to doing this, you can buy the computer outright, send yours to be repiared and sent back to you or the process we took, its whichever works best for you, time and cost, good luck with that, and please keep me updated.

@@thediyyardie7192 purchased an ECU exchange from Circuit Board Medics $259.00 and send them back old ECU for core. It fixed the Transmission problem mentioned above! Followed your instructions and drove the car for 30 minutes. Funny how you could feel the ECU learning the shifting trends of the car. Car drives perfect now. I did the same thing as you did first for code P0776 though I knew of the popular ECU problem of the 00 to 03 Rav4's. More rare, but does happen in 04 and 05 as I have learned. I pulled transmission pan to replace SL2 solenoid. Found that the ohm reading was 5.5 and that range is 5.0 to 5.6 of SL2 solenoid. Tested with 12V and it was working fine, so had a good suspicion it was ECU. Wasn't till I saw your video to confirm. Thanks again. Though do want to point out that he solenoid could have been tested without dropping the transmission pan. The wire harness the goes to ECU could have been unplugged and solenoid could have been tested though pig tail, though I'm not sure which pins. Maybe someone could comment on here which pins.
@thediyyardie71922 жыл бұрын
@@bullhorndax Very good to hear that it fixed your issue, and yes you're quite right about testing the solenoid at the connector, I just prefer to visually inspect the plunger to make suer its not broken, just to rule that out. But I love the feedback, thank for taking the time, and please consider subscribing if you didn't already do so, trying to grow my channel and need all the help I can get.
