I ran into an issue on a 2015 GM truck with 6.2 only code was P0300. It's off the used car lot and around 130k miles. I see Bernie Thompson always talking about misfire codes and testing to see if your scan tool or the ECM is lying to you. I made a mistake by not running a power balance test before I called bad injector on #5. Cylinder #5 was showing hundreds of misfires and counting them off. Cylinder #4 was only showing 10-20 and not currently counting. After replacing #5 injector, it seemed fine but I didn't drive it that far. It came back with same P0300 and still shows many misfires and counting on #5! I did a power balance test and when I kill #5 injector RPMs do seem to drop some. Not as much as some others but it does drop. However, #4 at idle doesn't drop at all. Note: I also did a full compression and Cylinder leak down test on #5. Over 200 psi compression and only 7% leakage. Sounds good. Checked coil with other cylinder and installed new plug. So I obviously have a problem on cylinder #4. Possibly bad injector but it only misfires at idle and acts like a vacuum leak. I sprayed around it but nothing. I will check out truck again starting with cylinder #4. Have not had much experience with direct injection. Cranking engine sounds good, but when cranking in clear flood mode, this thing shakes an awful lot? 😳
