Amen! Saul was disobedient by doing his will verses God's will. Sacrifice of animals back then can be seen as sacrifice out of obligation, whereas obedience is reverence to God. God didn't need stuff, particularly, their "stuff". Having the wrong motives in your heart will never set well with God. God knows best, so always in our best interest to be obedient verses a checklist of things we think we ought to be doing.
