These guys are so underrated it's criminal. Easily one of the best 1980's "synth wave/rock bands", post punk, whatever have you.

How have I not heard this song until now? Oh that's right, I grew up in a North Dakota town with just one AM station that played your run of the mill fodder, no room for anything near alternative. Other AM station was country and the FM was your canned, no live dj, pumped in from who knows where generic top40. Oh well, better late than never.

Jeff, check out their first 3 albums. All masterpieces.

A lot of people aren't even aware this album exists, and they call themselves 80s fans. I'll let you research why...

@@chrisbarlow2131 Actually all of their dozen or so albums (if you include compilations) have something great to offer - regardless of management/label pressures back in the day to be this or that. The mark of a truly great group is that they can't help being themselves - their sound identity is always unstoppably bigger than the sum of its parts - and will out regardless. Don't miss 'Chasing Shadows' and 'My Mind's Eye' too - classic landmarks along the way............and when it all gets too much, turn up the volume to '11' and lose yourself in 'Web of Sound' on their final outing 'The Glamour'.....forget the GP surgery - just play the Comsats!

Reviewers are so harsh on this more commercial record by the Comsat Angels, but I think it’s a gorgeous record. Intelligent yet accessible. Fellowes’ rich, smoky vocals on Natures Trails evokes Colin Blunstone, a comparison that is hard to come by. Only Mister Memory strikes a false note and only because of the erroneous use of synth throughout the song. I wish I had known this band in the 80’s as a teen. Who knows though, perhaps I am enjoying it more in my middle age.

I do like Mister Memory, too, actually. A very unique track that is very often in my mind. This album is such a teasure trove!

"mister memory" is an album highlight. also, "erroneous use of synth"...that's hilarious. i can only assume you're joking or either completely out of touch with reality

Love Mister Memory.. It's like proto industrial, but it is a harsh contrast from the beautiful and melodic.

The Punk purists hated it, the band themselves didn't like it, felt it was "overproduced". I loved it and welcomed the bands new direction. What a schism this album caused back in the day.
