This was the first 1/6 scale figure I ever received (and my only Sideshow figure) and I absolutely adore it, easily one of my favourites. I think I was really spoilt with the figure and I never understood why there was a hate for sideshow figures!

18:00 Boba's attire and camo wrapped rifle makes total sense from my perspective (a shooters perspective with three ghillie suits). Most stealthy snipers are not planning on fast/repeated use of the main rifle so it's more important to have it "blend" into your surroundings. If things get heated, you can always unwrap your rifle or use a smaller firearm specifically for fast/repeated use which Boba also seems to have in hand. The Mythos Boba is my fav of all Bobas for that reason, it looks like he's going on a sniper mission even though that BIG reflective helmet would give his position away.

Thanks for this great review, Justin. Was hesitating to get this figure but you convinced me. Not having the double joint elbow really limits the range of poses though. That is why I decided to reduce the biceps in both arms, to allow the forearms to get closer when bending them. It increases considerably the alternatives for posing.

I started my collection off last June with this figure right here. I had seen a picture of Hot Toys Solo Maul (my favorite look for the character) and noticed it wouldnt be out for a couple more months, so i looked for a figure that would go with it and found old Ben here. For the base, I got a small stepping stone and covered it in sand colored/textured spray paint. I think im gonna do a body upgrade, but Idk which to use bc ive never done one before

I watched this video to see how to put him back in his box.😁 (Incidentally, I don't think there is a mix of Ewan McGregor in it. I think it is just a younger version of Alec Guinness.) This is the only Sideshow or Hot Toys figure that I own. I collect mostly 3.75" Star Wars and 6" non-Star Wars (though I do have a few 6" and Hasbro 12" Star Wars figures.) I wanted to have something to represent the High end 12" stuff, so I chose this. I think it was a good choice as this figure is great. (I would love a copy of that fan edit of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show that was edited into a two hour movie and have it deep faked so that Obi-Wan looked like this🙂)

Looking forward to making this purchase soon. As stated, it does have that mashup b/w Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor. Loving the details throughout. Combining with the Mythos Boba Fett I can sees the photo opportunities with this. Now this will sound crazy, a Mythos Darth Vader should be the next the figure although, it's obvious but not much of a challenge, I would say the face is going to be a factor overall. Using Prowess and Anakin from The Revenge of The Sith will be the spring board. As always great video commentary.

It’s possible that the reason for the change of body was due to the fact that the first batch didn’t match the skin tone of the head sculpt. I bought it upon first release, and that was certainly a negative point. Great figure though…!

Hello there (sorry but I had to do that). I really like this figure, as you say there are a lot of nods to the clone wars and love that as well as including Anakins lightsaber they also included Qui-Gon's as well. It gives the impression that he had so little time to escape the Jedi Temple after the coup that he only took his most prised possessions with him. Im really looking forward to the Obi-Wan show and hope this design is similar to what we get in it. Keep up the good work with all the vids/reviews..

It's a cool figure, but it sucks that Sideshow pulled a bait and switch with the body. Especially since they didn't remove the photos from the store page that clearly showed that it was double jointed until people started pulling them up about it. If it was clearly stated that it changed to single jointed elbows, it wouldn't be a problem but the fact that they did it so sneakily and still charged the same price is the problem imo. At least be honest. Also is your display base all scuffed up? Looks like it is, not sure ifs just marks that will rub off or not. I do love pre-pegged hands though.

Hi Justin! I’ve been waiting to see this Mythos figure! So glad you are reviewing this. What an incredible costume on the figure. I don’t love the display case. It should have been a nice looking base with either sand or some indoor cement/Adobe. He has a few lightsabers from other Jedi and I’m glad one can light up. Interesting “friend” analogy fir the light sabers. I love these accessories too and the goggles, even though they aren’t real lenses are ok. The rifle is huge and the hand gestures in this set are great. This back pack is incredible, hadn’t noticed the clone wars armor. It’s a nice looking pack and looks authentic with its own evaporator and tools. In a real pose this figure is stellar! He looks just like Obi and his expression is lovely, it does look like a cross between Guinness and McGregor. He sculpt and hair are perfect. Even the gray in his hair a d beard are nice. Perhaps the choice of fabric is not as ideal but the boots are spot on. With all of his gear on he looks like a desert nomad and less like a Jedi. For some reason I don’t remember the googles looking like that. Side by side we’re seeing a nice transition between the two figures. He looks best next to Fett. The last side by side clearly shows he’s younger and with the Obi series coming up it was needed. TBH. Some men change in there facial features as they age so I know it might look more like one actor then another but you’d hard pressed to see another rendition that could suit both actors so well. @@JustinsCollection Justin that’s a great point, but I will counteract with this. You pay thousands for statues due to the immense size and detail. Obviously 1/6 scale figures are much smaller and I’d have to imagine much cheaper to make. Now if I buy a toy from 20 years ago I’m going to expect some limitations just due to the time period. Now if I pay for a toy today and it has the same limitations yet just about every other toy today doesn’t have anymore I’m going to be a little bit confused. I’ll try not to drag this thought out much longer I know it’s already long. But with that said on the box cover it shows him able to get past 90 degrees on his arms and yet for most figures he can’t which would be false advertising. Now and lastly what’s weird to me is that sideshow did initially release it with the elbows being able to go much higher so I’m confused why they would switch into a worse body. I have the first version and I absolutely love it. I did get another head for it, it's basically the same sculpt but has grey hair and the eyes have more life to them similar to Hot Toys. That was my one complaint with this figure, the eyes are just kinda... there. I'd be pretty upset if SSC sent me a figure with a single bend elbow. It's 2021 not 1998. They should supply an upgraded body, but unfortunately you'll probably have to do your own which this character really needs, IMO. You can get him into some really nice thought provoking poses when he's able to reach up to his hood and whatnot.

I honestly wouldn’t have minded the single jointed elbows if when I purchased it, it told me they were single jointed. It was still advertised as the original fully-jointed body. when folk emailed them, they received gift cards, rewards points, etc. when I emailed them, they basically, kindly, said “too bad, we’re sorry, there’s nothing we can do short of return for full reimbursement. I kept it because it looks just too damn good lol

Damnit justin, you done made me do it. I told myself i was only gonna stick with hot toys and that's it but ugh! I had that mythos fett and i was appalled by it because of how garbage the quality was. I liked the look but the body they used and overall quality ruined if for me. I do remember this guy though being on pre-order for a while so it seems like they have improved the base body which i am glad. I don't mind loosing the double joints. As long as the joints are sturdy and firm, i will be happy.

Absolutely adore this figure it's my favourite look for obi wan. I've had both the older version and newer version of this figure. The first versions articulation is much better but the materials used on the new one are more durable and feel more premium.

No. That is a brand new figure made by hot toys. Sideshow made an original one years ago, its a separate company

Especially for a Sideshow figure he looks incredible. Not to take away from Sideshow they've had a lot of home runs but not as many as Hot Toys. Very tempting to buy. If they do a Darth Maul I'd be all over that. I love your costume CW Obi-Wan.
