Slightly press the sides of the plastic bottle, then release.

You squeeze the bottle very softly. I suggest you practice a little with it before hand so that when you squeeze the bottle people can't see your hand move. Also, experiment with different ketchup packages. Some float better than others.

Can you use any kind a ketchup on any bottle of water?

Hi Francis. It's best to use a plastic water bottle that has smooth walls with no ribs. Also, I used a larger bottle so people could see it better. I went around to several fast food restaurants and picked up several different kinds of ketchup packages and experimented to see which one responded best.

Hillary Priced I went to the grocery store and looked for a plastic bottle that had no ridges. I can't remember if it was a water bottle or some kind of soda bottle. I wanted it to be a smooth surface with no ridges so it would be easier to see the packet inside.

Just by applying a slight amount of pressure to the bottle. Some ketchup packets work better than others. Try several different brands.
