Kat screaming in the background during the more stressful moments of the song was probably the best choice for her tbh. For a lot of people trying to keep themselves calm and "rolling" as it were, that voice of depression, self-hate, pain, noise, whichever you want to call it, can sound like a piercing scream when it gets to be too much. It makes the song metal, but it still keeps the feel and idea behind Rolling Girl. Instead of a desperate plea to the heavens and your mind to stop hurting you and let you go on (either to roll, or to die), it's an angry scream demanding the heavens and your mind to stop hurting you and let you go on (roll or die). Amazing cover. I'm sure Wowaka would've been proud of this.

While the interpretation of "roll or die" is very valid, the lyrics are ambiguous enough to allow room for a different interpretation. If you look closer, you notice the one doing the choking at the end is Miku/Neuro, the one reaching out for the hug is the boy/Katie. It is more noticeable in the original PV. Furthermore, there is a very slight difference in the wording of the same sentence: 息ほ止めろの今 Miku says "iki wo tomeru no ima" twice, then the boy says "iki wo yameru no ima" at the end during the hug. This slight difference makes a huge contrast between "I will stop your breath now" and "hold your breath now". The rolling girl doesn't have to keep rolling or die, she can also find a shoulder to rest on and "hold her breath", calm down, rather than "stop breathing". It bears remembering the original PV hasn't been made by Wowaka, only the song has been. It has been made entirely on the interpretation of the animator of whom the name escapes me at the moment. (Edit: Aki Akane from Nicovideo apparently? Unsure.) The PV's interpretation also includes the turn to color at the end, contrasted with the search of an unreachable dream of colors earlier in the lyrics. In the end, the animation has a very hopeful interpretation of the ambiguous lyrics for the rolling girl. And I quite like it.

I actually didn't know Neuro before this song and would 19 out of 20 never have guessed this was not a real person singing. Living inside the J-Pop genre this feels extremely real compared to over vocaloids n stuff. Was very surprised finding the truth.

Can't remember who does the music puppetry _[edit: it's Queen_Pb],_ someone told me/us once and I want to say it's the same person who made Neuro's first VTuber model (before Anny), but whomever it is does a really good job! I've seen a video on another channel (a music related one, alai a Twitch streamer) where he's toyed with some of the synth singing software - hah it's not called this but it fits: TTS but Singing - and it is also impressive. Leaps and bounds above Vocaloid. It wouldn't surprise me if it's exactly what they use to make the covers with Neuro/Evil. I personally think we've hit the Uncanny Valley for synth singing, and are very very very close to it with TTS. I had sent my mom a cover by Neuro, but she just thought it sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks 🤦‍♂️ lol Yet, I have no doubt a good TTS would fool her. One thing is for certain: Interesting, and dangerous, times are ahead thanks to this stuff! I have my fingers crossed it won't bite us in the ass...

Which brought me to Vedal/Neuro/Evil... What a *_great_* goddamn rabbit hole to fall down!! 🤘😫🤘 There's a few Vedal archive channels, one specifically focuses on Neuro and Evil's singing streams, uploading each song individually. _(I wish YT would let me directly tell you without removing it, but it's something long like "Neuro / Evil Music and Singing Archive")_ I've said this a couple times, but I hope Katie can work with Vedal (Neuro/Evil's creator) to teach ("train") them how to do metal growl vocals! I'm not a huge fan of vocaloid vocals, but this works really well actually, usually the ai voices sound weird when the pitch changes, but that's not presence isn't here at all

@@K311WasHere The a Neuro twins, or more specifically the vocal software being used, actually sound BETTER the higher they go. When they try to recreate the lower registers, then you can hear the glitch... Basically because the lower the pitch the slower the oscillation is to create it, versus the faster for higher pitch. _(think of it exactly like sound frequency: the lower the Hertz the lower the deeper the bass and so you can see the pulses as the woofer moves)_

I mean there is a clear difference between how Miku and Neuro are created and how they produce vocals. The first is a Vocaloid that can be used to actually create music by kinda sounding like a human "instrument", the latter an AI voice that is really really good at mimicing human phonetics. Sadly Neuro can not produce original songs (yet).
