JazakAllah khair for this. please can u explain if it is obedience like if he tells me to stand [for no reason] i need to stand and everyone else is sitting down, am i sinful if i dont obey him here. or is it obedience in normal things like cooking, maintaining house, duties of wife to husband.

Salam, obediance in normal things, u r not sinful for not doing every command yet I find it strange for such commands to be said, I advise following them all as long as it is not your humiliation or disobidience to Allah All Mighty

Coming from the perspective of those who only follow the wahy (please read with an open mind and a sincere heart): The video shows no evidence for the obligation of cooking and serving. The ayah does not, at all, state anything about cooking and serving the husband. It says that the men have a degree over the females, and if you continue the ayah Allah explains why they have this higher degree, and nothing related to cooking and serving is mentioned. Nor is it mentioned by Allah that the wives should serve their husbands in return for what they spend (which is simply the husband's duty). It is wrong for any human (whether scholar or not) to oblige the wives to serve their husbands in turn for their duties simply because one thinks the husbands "deserve it" when Allah never told the wives to do such. Claiming that something is an obligation means that if it is deliberately left off, the person is a sinner and may be punished by Allah. So it is a claim made upon Allah, and every claim upon Allah needs proof or else it is from the falsest of falsehood, for it is a lie upon Allah. And the hadith about Fatima doesn't state that she was serving her husband, it does not give the full context of why she was doing her work. She could have been doing it because she sold the product, or as a preparation for a feast, or perhaps it could've been a simple task that she wanted to do but her hands were naturally weak. How can we, with full certainty, say that she did it to serve her husband when the part that tells the reason why she was doing it is missing and she could've very well done it for many other reasons which have nothing to do with her husband? Aren't we making a claim without proof on Fatima if we can't prove with certainty that she was serving her husband? Not just that, aren't we making a claim upon the Prophet without proof by saying that the response of the prophet showed that it is obligatory to serve the husband. Whilst, as I stated, the full context and reason isn't even known and the certainty isn't there. Isn't this a dangerous claim to make and a dangerous belief to hold? They need to present clear proofs from Qur'an and Sunnah that mention that the wife is obliged to cook and serve her husband for us to consider it an obligation from Allah. Allah hasn't put proofs for obligations in narrations that aren't clear, or in narrations that simply show the actions of people, rather the only Hujjah for us is the Qur'an and Sunnah which are both wahy, and obligations are only taken by looking at the Qur'an and what the Messenger ordered. Btw, this doesn't come from a feminist who understands Islam through the liberal lens. I'm simply a brother who sticks to the wahy and rejects any form of personal opinion from people who cannot stick to the wahy.

follow that which the scholars say and ignore everyone else

@@ibnyasirthere is nothing wrong in what he said... there is something called wisdom... and scholars have that, undoubtedly more wisdom than us... may Allah swt guide us to the straight path, aameen ya Allah.

The hadith about Fatima does in fact state that she was serving her husband, did you not hear the sheikh saying "In her hands are traces/effects from grinding grain in her house. This proves that she was working in the house i.e. serving her husband. You said that there is no proof that Fatima was working in the house but there is as I showed you just now. Do not speak without proof. This sheikh works very hard studying ahadeeth and you just put it down without any knowledge.
