Considering the amount of actually skilled people Microsoft ejected into the sun, there’s a non zero chance this dlc was written with AI. Certainly in character for Todd
@lemonynoraАй бұрын
That’s really depressing thought
@dektarey4024Ай бұрын
I don't think that's the case. Todd Howard likes his radiant content, but that's the extent of his affinity with AI generation. The man is still passionate about the experience of making games, so i don't believe he'd greenlight this. The head writer - Emil Pagliarulo - however is another thing entirely. The man's said himself on multiple occasion the story doesn't matter in videogames. As head writer. If you want to blame anyone for the bad story, it's that guy. But it also doesn't feel AI generated. Much more made by an uninspired and burned-out writer than written by an AI.

I love Starfield but I hate playing it. Those 5 minute empty walks between POIs were the strong point of fallout and elder scrolls. In Starfield it's literally nothing for 5 minutes to the next copy pasted POI. No environmental storytelling. I love all the ingredients but can't stand the cake.

Yep I remember travelling to markarth from whiterun, ended up getting drunk with some travellers, get attacked by a dragon, mauled by a bear and ended up in a Dwemer ruin hiding from falmers(was under levelled)
@potatopotawto1412Ай бұрын
Sarah’s dialogue almost sounds like a writer desperately trying to narrate the area because the environment designers failed to design it. “It’s interesting how the building almost seem to point towards the sky.” “This area is filled with a sense of dread.” It’s like a DM trying to poorly set up an area.

The problem with a new Todd game, or new DLC to a Todd game, is that it is still a Todd game. This is why people make mods, to de-Todd them.

@silentt8161Ай бұрын
i think its actually possible that they will listen and change the writing for the better in es6. if you actually look critically at starfield you'll realise they really made and expanded a lot of systems to make a really complex system, but then they made them so easy to either ignore or not feel anything from that it is invisible to players. i think this was an obvious response to skyrim and fallout's simplicity that they actually changed stuff, so it is possible that the same response for starfield will be addressed for es6. i'm not saying it will happen, I'm just saying its possible, but its also for the one thing that is impossibly hard for companies to change for some reason and thats having a good writer.
@ImObliviousАй бұрын
@@silentt8161 I'll believe that once they fire Emil. Even Skyrim suffered from the same level of on rails quest lines where it made unnecessary characters like Delphine essential until the very end. No one over there writes for contingencies and alternate paths. They write one track to the end of the quest and give you no options to complete how you want or even work against the interests of the quest designer. Emil is on record bragging about how Starfield is the best game they've made so that tells you all you need to know about the future of BGS games.
